Is this a totally foreign concept to some people on here??
Is it beyond some people's understanding that you don't have to agree or even like everything a person says and/or does..for you to like them as a PERSON???
This forum does not "represent the world at large"..and with the exception of the moderators, there is no "government" or "hiearchy" here...it is no one person's job to point out the short comings of others..or teach "lessons" to others...or make sure other people don't "make the same mistakes" as others... A forum is a sounding board, it is for the discussion of topics and though CS Forum has been generous in what they allow, the basic concept of what a forum is for still remains...
It is possible you know to disagree with someone's opinion and/or lifestyle...but still like them as a person...perceived faults and all...
Of course it's possible to disagree with someone's opinion/lifestyle. We don't all think in the same "manner". Part of being "human" is having the right to your own "opinion".
It does seem however, that at times, if you do not "follow the crowd" then you're viewed as an "outsider". We are all human, and I would hope that there is enough "maturity" to accept someone else's opinion and viewpoint without "lashing" and "passing judgement". Unfortunately, it's not always a pretty sight when someone isn't willing to change their views based on other's "expectations" of the change. So, why can't we just accept that? Let's see...immaturity comes to mind as well as the idea that there's only "one" correct opinion. What makes the world go 'round ARE differences of opinion and viewpoints. Otherwise we'd all be "yes man or woman".
unfortunately, a lot of people allow the net to take over their lives and it becomes a reality for them. I belong other sites and the same thing happens there... the drama , the drama, the drama...
as far as i am concerned if you dont care for someone's posts, scroll over them, you are not forced to answer them, and it does not make you the bigger person to point out negativity all the time...
Further to what you said Rebecca..."..I would hope that there is enough maturity to accept someone else's opinion..."
Do you notice that when the "drama" erupts the one word frequently used is "schoolyard"...because that generally is where this type of thing happens...and certainly where it should have been left...
..."as far as i am concerned if you dont care for someone's posts, scroll over them, you are not forced to answer them, and it does not make you the bigger person to point out negativity all the time...
what matters to me is if the persons "core" person is a good one.
my gosh, we all make mistakes, whether that be percieved as a mistake in our own eyes or anothers...
but to still keep the basic morals, standards of self... or sometimes we might judge others for our own actions...
for example...someone that knows i like to travel to meet new people might assume i sleep with all the males i meet...now just because they would, doesnt mean i do. but thats what they know, so thats what they think.
as for my "mistakes"? i damn sure hope you all get a chance to do the same.
get your motor runnin, head out on the highway, looking for adventure.......lalalalalalalalala
I guess what I'm trying to say is in my life, being in HS my life was good. I had friends. You didn't agree with them, so be it. Seems like the "older" we are, the less acceptance there is.
