solitare: So what else is new...the man should have said: "you study hard and parrot what the teachers want to hear and you get good grades..." It's always been that way; unfortunately nearly everywhere to even get a cheap PHD...Estimated projected costs for colleges will soon be 32,000 dollars a year, while in Europe, under a democratically elected free-enterprise/ socialist system that always form a viable coalition, college and university costs are free. Go figure.
Costs are only "free" when you're not paying 50+% in taxes.

outdoorgirlsun: Yes, Check out the costs to bury yourself, scary, very scary!
It cost my family around $6000 for my brothers wake, cremation and burial.
Because it costs so much for a college education here, my parents couldn't afford it for four kids, so they left it up to us.
My brothers and I went into the military to get training in the fields we were interested in. Mind you, it wasn't just the training we wanted when we enlisted. There was the travel to places never been to. I enjoyed what I was doing while in the USCG and if they hadn't been making cuts at the time, I would have stayed in. One of the biggest problems with the field I went into, a license is required to work on civilian aircraft. To get an A/P license, 30 hours of class time and 18 months of practical experience is required. We tried getting an instructor to come on the station for the class time but couldn't get enough people to make it worthwhile. By the time I was married and had two kids, I couldn't afford to take the time needed to get the class time and regain the practical. After approximately 30+ years of factory work, I guess you could say I'm almost a jack of all trades but not a master of any.
My sister did do college but is paying for it. It has landed her pretty high up in the state tax revenue office to the point where she even sees the governor quite a bit.
I have to agree with some about education being a right instead of a priviledge

In response to: I really wish they wouldn't use the word conspiracy when the word stupidity would suffice.
No kidding but, then again, they promote this themselves with gems like; "The secret truth is, most college students will not receive their degree in four years."

It's almost like they play right into the hands of the idiots.
It's become such an over used word now, I'm afraid my pants might be conspiring to undress me.
BB_snickers: When we know we're idiots we just conspire to be smarter or hide the idiocy. Except for Antjo, he has lapel pins so he isn't hiding anything.
Oh for sure; we are all in various conditions unfit to be misunderstood, at times
