Chips????
A new kitchen appliance made by Tefal can cook your most loved chips in a spoon of oil using hot air similar to that in an oven.
Chips cooked this way have only 3.2g of fat per 150gm serve compared to 39.6g of fat when deep fried.
A great idea for peopple who want to avoid cholesterol and heart problems.

They may be healthier, but they are still high in carbohydrates so if you don't use the energy you derive from them, it will add to your weight gain so remember carbs in moderation.

I hate carbs because I love them. crying I can't imagine my diet without bread, potato, rice or pasta. It is a basic & economic staple to my meal every night, particularly in winter. I think that is the hardest thing about cutting carbs. It is easier on your own but when cooking for a family (and for me that includes 3 growing boys) it is a hard ask, especially when they are always hungry. I love salads etc but not in winter. I seriously thought about a low carb diet recently but that concept got thrown in the too hard basket. moping

Just got to replace rice/potatos with brocoli/asparagus/brussel sprouts/cabbage. Give your boys more spuds, just have one for yourself and have a whole bunch of brocoli for yourself.
Cooking spagbog, make up a 700ml tupperware container for yourself.
Add 1kg of mixed frozen veg, 2 onions, spoon of dried basil, 2 crushed cloves garlic, tin of mushrooms, tin of diced tomatoes, whole capsicum all to 1kg mince steak with your fave pasta sauce.
Not much room for the pasta in a 700ml container when you add your bolanaise to it. Spoil yourself and throw some shredded tasty cheese on top.

Far frm it, but I used to have one of them on Wed, a Vanilla slice on Mon, Coffee Scroll on Tues, Chocolate iced donut Thurs and mud cake on Frid.
These days, it's no breaky, brunch at 10:30 - salad sandwich, pear at 2:30 and then tea at 6:00
The one no no I have is at 8:30pm - whole banana cut up with mixed frozen berries and neopolitan ice cream yay.
If I feel peckish during the day at all, I just get my Aldi mixed dried fruits/nuts/seeds out and nibble on them.

I went out with a guy once who refused to eat greens, just meat, and the hot chips if it was a pub meal.

We love our greens, at our house, we take one piece of meat and have a half each, the rest is mixed vegies... beans, peas, corn, carrots, sweet potato, potato, broccoli, and so on.

My other favourite is those asian salads that you can get prepacked at woolies and coles...

My great weakness is fresh bread rolls, or turkish bread heated in the oven and smothered with butter.. wink

If l dont eat sweet stuff at least 2 to 3 times a week l lose to much weight. Ive just always been the same. I graze all day on fruit and veg inbetween meals and have to eat a certain amount of sweet stuff to keep my weight where it is. Mum says lve got hollow legs..lol..but l suspect its more that l have a fast metabolism.... laugh

First do away with the frozen veges, peas don't go well with this dish.Just add diced carrots.Fry off the onions and garlic, then add your mince till the meat is sealed, then add 1 cup of red wine, makes for amuch better flavour, reduce, add a tin off bio dynamic organic chopped tomatoes, for an extra 50c a much better flavour and add your bottle of pasta sauce, many varieties out there.simmer for 45 mins.
Cook your pasta.then add fresh basil to the bolognese.not that dried stuff.Do away with the tasty cheese on top.Add parmigiana reggiano parmesan.much better flavour.wine

i haven't tried the red wine yet or fresh basil, I add the kg of mixed veggies to bulk up my veggie intake. No capsicum? I love the spag bog you get in Lygon street, yummo.

We eat heaps of veg and I hide veg in a lot of meals also including the ones I don't like. I am not a fan of zucchini but I do grate it up so I can't taste it, also avocado I don't like. Tonight we had Chicken schnitzel layered with avocado processed into a paste with lemon and salt/pepper then topped with garlic, tomato, onion & baby spinach with a side of carrots and asparagus.

No potato, pasta or rice!! yay There were breadcrumbs though. uh oh

Thankfully I don't have a sweet tooth, but I do like rich creamy sauces. roll eyes

Nope and I don't have chips often enough to warrant getting one either. Nor is my kitchen big enough for the appliances I have now. frustrated

Got a friend visiting from UK they have them over there, she said it takes 45 mins to cook your chips that way. Ask before you buy??
