In the last fortnight the Queen of England visited Ireland. The first time a British Monarch has visited our shores since Independence. She laid a wreath at the garden of remembrance which is a monument to all Irishmen and women who gave their lives for Independence.
Here is her speech and its well worth watching.
Forebearance and Concilliation. Bow to the past, but not be bound by it
I have to say I was indifferent to her coming but she is one classy Lady and the way she carried herself has gone a long way to building bridges.
Oh Yeah O'Bama was here too He was going back to his roots

Hope you are well and settling in Vinny.
I agree Graham. I read a lot of reports from Royal reporters in the UK and they expressed opinions that they have not seen the Queen smiling so much on a visit. Not sure how true it is but she seemed happy and she really turned a lot of peoples perceptions of her.
Fair play to her and huge kudos.
I'm not sure what his Royal Higness is going to do with his pressie of a hurling stick and a Sliothar though If he loses the sliothar he could practise on the corgis
As G says, hope you are settling in to life back home .....
Got any good golf courses close by ??I got to share this one .......
The Irish have solved their own fuel problems. They imported 50 Million tonnes of sand from the Arabs and they're going to drill for their own oil.
Hi R
Things are settling down now and its great to spend time with family and friends. You cant go too far over here without good golf courses but I havent played yet. Been to the driving range a few times as I havent played in over 3 years so Im still trying to find a swing
Hope your well
I will let your attempt at humour go as seen as your a Celt
i attended an irish wedding in sicily last weekend and had a lot of fun..
i was the only non-irish person among 40 irish people and was afraid not to be able to communicate well, therefore the day before the wedding i "studied" the irish/english language on youtube with O'bama and The Queen...
