I like dong thins around the house too. I have never been any good at gardening etc.
Irish weather does not make for an outdoor lifestyle anyway. This has been the worst summer I can remember. May and June so far have been more like winter.
At times I think men love the outdoors because of the hunter/explorer in them. The other possibility is that people are scared of coming across as boring if they say they are a homebody in their profile.
In response to: A lot of men here claim to enjoy the outdoors. I'm a homebody, love staying in and pottering around the house. Any similar minded people on this site?
I love the outdoors.Last year my b/f and I bought a tent and aair mattress and went to a campground and camped. We also cooked over an open fire.

I'm no hunter but I Love the outdoors Theres nothing like a hike out to some woods somewhere Ive never been before so I don't know what to expect... The beauty of the trees the rivers the wild flowers the mountains etc
I Love it
Do you think people really say they love outdoors and stuff because they are scared to say otherwise? You could be right although they're shooting themselves in the foot if they meet someone and they suggests camping or similar for a first or second date

tallman51: agoraphobic is a not very well understood term.
It is a condition associated with Nervous Breakdown and Anxiety. It has nothing to do with open spaces.
Some people with agoraphobia are even limited to certain areas of their home. Some are even so affected that they can only stay in one area of their home.
I spent most of my childhood outdoors, at the beach, on boats, camping, swimming, cycling in the countryside. At the same time I also used to enjoy staying in reading and relaxing at home. Eventually as an adult I just morphed into a homebody. I hate the thought of camping, or long walks or hikes or anything adventurous. I think I must have had enough adventure as a child.

I like walks and hiking, but sleeping outside or spending hours is not for me.The black flies will eat you alive. You will literally come into the house bloody if you stay outside to long, and bug spray does nothing.

I'm not sure if I agree with you. I come across many profiles that describe a great night for the person being a cozy night inside with candles, fireplace and wine. It takes all kinds to make the world go around and some of these kinds are outdoorsy and some are indoorsy ( yeah that doesn't sound right)and sometimes, these opposites actually can make a good match.

true and I really think people get too hung up on being inflexible with some of their profile preference
are u telling me that u would bypass an otherwise great person because u might have to be a little flexible on your standards or what kinda relationship u r seeking? oh pleeze
then u better put rigid and unthinking down as a preference
I laugh when I see all that "I love camping" stuff...and figure he's too cheap to pay for a hotel or that he wants to appear masculine. what I don't get is why he thinks women are going to get all excited about camping????

Why I really do love camping boiling the billy for an early morning cuppa smelling the great outdoor air. I was born and raised in the bush so it is a natural thing peeps in the country towns tend to do go camping down by the river or by the sea side. There really are people who like the simple things in life like camping.
Being a biker the outdoors is where its at for spring summer and autumn when winter arrives in Vienna its time to stay home and hide... unless there's decent snow around and then its time to go sledging... drink Gluwein and eat good food...

I agree and although I do like doing things outdoors, I am home more than I am out camping and such. You can have a lot of fun being at home. I guess it depends on the person.

How about we still a couple of those Knights of Malta armoured suits from a museum in Valletta and do some role playing ? If I were stuck indoors, that's what I would like to do.
