Because he did not die for your sins. It is a mistranslation. It is about corporate guilt. That sentence was written in the first century. He died because of the sins of the Jews and Gentiles of the day (this alternative - and correct - translation is given in the footnotes of the NRSV).

The Vatican is only hiding their own corruption and idolatry. The original religion of Yeshua ben Yosef (Jesus son of Joseph) was Judaism. He was a Galilean Rabbi.
