Funny you should that I work for a company that is in retail.Wont say in what field , but in the last few years they have spread their tentacles east wards mainly into Victoria .
Now I get discount to buy from my company .As I'm in the companies DC.I have to go to the coal front so to speak to buy products .
We have been in Adelaide 100yrs and the majority of that have had a monopoly on the market place.
With the GFC the company noticed less sales even at the DC we told the higher ups .We are losing sales to discount places that serve the same customers .We were politely told we have no idea what we are talking about .
On my rdo I was in need to buy some products for myself and my daughter .This was a wet friday morning Discount place was packed got my stuff .But they didnt stock what my daughter needed .So walked up the road to another opposition store they had 6 customers and didnt have what I needed .Walked a bit further to my works store .There was myself and a driver from the dc in the store .Yes they had what my daughter needed didnt buy what I needed the discount store got my $$$.
So who knows more the bosses or the workers ?
