out of all my ex's there is only one that i would still be on talking terms with. not exactly 'friends' but we wouldn't ignore each other like...hahha

I always stay friends with my exes at least for a while but not if they were obnoxious to me in any way. However, if they text me I tend to reply politely. I don't think that can do any harm. You told him the situation and maybe he's sorry for his bad reaction. In the end, though, whether you are friends or not is up to you.

I have a no contact policy once the relationship has ended to give both parties the time to get over it and move on. I am now good friends with two of my exes but we only became friends after about a year of no contact. Ending a relationship is really hard. If you don't want to be with him then be strong and don't reply, he will thank you for it in the long run.

im civil to my ex but would never call us friends, we split two years ago after more than 5 years together but it was a similar thing to you there was a few thousand miles between us at one point and even more when he came home and the job was all that mattered. we split and the only reason i talked to him afterwards was to tell him when my brother in law died. i dont talk to him much at all now but we are still friends on facebook.....not that it means much PLEASE NO NASY COMMENTS !
It can happen, depends on so many things, why you break up, how long ago it was, whether or not one of you still has feelings for the other.

am no there was a whole heap of otheir reasons jelousy being anotheir factor talking to a group of male and female friends who all tried to interact with him he would rather sit alone and would want me by his side the whole time leaving my friends confused as to what the heck is going on .
I'm still pretty good friends with my Ex's, but I think you need a certain time of no contact, both to let the wounds heal and to get used to either being on your own or being with someone else.

Ah thats a whole different story.
Best to be straight with him IMO tell him you are not interested in any more contact.Ex's can be friends depends on a load of different things

ive blocked him from ringing which he has been doin it got a point i got fed up of him not getting the message GO AWAY .

He probably still wants to be with you. If thats not what you want then its best to cut contact.

Its sad that you felt that you had to put that last bit in capitals or even at all.
Its often possible to remain friends with an ex..I have with most of
mine....you need to if you have children between you or they can be in the middle of the bad feelings.Perhaps if it is ended by one party against the wishes of the other then it may be hard for awhile but time can help.Also some people do think that if their ex is remaining friends there is a chance to rekindle things so care has to be taken not to give false hope.
I hope you will be able to continue to be friends but only if its what BOTH of you want and you arent made to feel as though you have to.

I agree. I think if you break up on good terms then there is no reason why you can't be friends as long as both of you know where you stand.
I was friends with my ex before we got together and I would like us to continue to be friends in the future. In fact when we first met, we agreed that no matter what happens we would try and always be friends. Unless someone treats you badly or vice versa then I don't see any reason why you can't be friends if both parties still want to be that is.
