tusiemc: if someone mails you and just says 'hi how are you' and your just not into them do you reply? And what do you say? this has happened me a couple of times I don't want to reply and say I'm not interested cause it sounds presumtious that I think the fancy me.....
but if I reply with something like 'I'm good thank you' then that leads to another reply from them, which just leads to mails back and forth just cause you don't want to be rude with someone your not interested in...anyone else have this problem, or am I particularly bad at this stuff

Im bad at this as well, soemtimes i dont reply and i wounder is it the right thing to do... and other times i have replied and not even into them either and then they ahve asked for a date its like awkward... im kinda looking for someone near my own age group at mo too i know age doesnt matter but its just how i feel at the mo ....
I always reply to mails, I even play with the scammers sometimes just for the hell of it.

hehe do i now Think of this site like anyplace in the real world. If someone came up to you in a bar or a nightclub and said hello would you reply or would you just walk away or stare into space? Here you have the added protection that it is not the real world so it's an even safer place to acknowledge another human being and remember people here are real people not 'pale faces' or 'fat ones' or anything else.
If your mailbox isn't too overflowing perhaps it would be worth a couple of civil mails just to pass the time and drop a hint. If you have a person who will not let go or a THIS MAN IS ONE NASTY BULLY then there is the option to block his emails. But who knows, maybe he will have a good lookin' friend.
Personally I chat to anyone who mails me as long as they are civil but sure do whatever you feel is right for you and don't forget to enjoy the place. It's not all stalkers, NASTY BULLIES, and weirdos. Remember, it's real people with real feelings.

If I like their profile, or something about them interests me I'll reply and try expand somewhat on the 'hi how are you?', if I dont read anything that interests me I generally dont reply

I used to ignore mails like that but lately, depending on my mood, I may reply with "fine thanks". I've never received a reply to that
