jem1964: when I was a teenager I spent 2 weeks in hospital. When I came home pne of the work dogs would not leave the front gate, and sat there and howled until I went out to see him.
For the next week Mums cat slept with me. Evidently then he decided that I was ok and it was ok to go back to sleeping with Mum again.

My current dog goes to the window and paws at it until I get inside, so cute

Our animals do have a special bond with us

I had an operation on my leg nearly two years ago and stayed with my son his lady and the dogs for 4 days while I was there coco the dog kept sniffing my leg and giving the bandage a lick. I was over there the other day and she came straight over to me and licked my leg where I had the op she has done that on quiet a few occasions how weird is that. I had skin cancer cut out. animals know don't they. hug they are very smart especially dogs.

When my marriage broke up sold the larger part of the stud and kept 6 mini's and my old big horse he went to live up the road from me on a bigger property close to me so I could look after him as I only had an acrea block. I had 6 miniatue paddocks & 6 miniature stable post and rail fences and tack & feed shed. all fitted on the property with large house fully irrigated. Worked really well for me just couldn't get work in the bush. I really enjoyed living there sometimes I think maybe I should have hung in there.

When your feed starts to wear down put your horses out on someones property for a short while to spell the land get the grass growing.

That is sad,do you still see any of your horses still ?.

Yes would do that freshen up the ground.....being they are horses they wouldent be prone to founder like ponies would they.????

A lot of my stock was sold off to eastern states mainly Qld and the rest to studs scattered around western australia.

Because I don't breed anymore my stud name doesnt pop up in the Industry much any more

If you want minis they can be real greedy guts so the best way to look after them is stable them each night give them a tiny mix at bed time one ice cream container of mix. They are cheaper to feed than bigger horses. anyhow if stabled every night one you spell the paddock overnight and stop them grazing 24/7 that controls their weight.
