Someone specific, you don't want them to find you on a dating site, for whatever reason. Be it a spouse you may be cheating on, workmates, family, friends etc.

2. Any mention of Will Ferrell or Anchorman quotes, unless they are preceeded by 'I hate'
3. If they feel they have to have their profile pic taken with a bottle of JD, smirnoff or whatever in their hands.
4. If they're sticking their tounge out in there profile pic (very Kerry Katona....classy
)5. The words 'just out of a long relationship'
6. As mentioned previously by Mr Dante, the high number of male 'friends', bit of a turnoff, especially when its the same ol' names/faces.
7. When 'going out', 'shopping', 'havin the craic' etc are listed as 'interests', arent these things taken as a given, tell me someting that you like doing as a hobby!

shyjim: I personally think the emotional aspect is important too. I think after a few emails you get a idea of what type of person you are chatting too and maybe a rapport can be built.
Personally I find the whole height agenda a bit off putting for guys under 6ft it can be daunting.
Its not how tall or good looking you are its what kind of person you are is what counts.

The problem I find with a lot of people here is they say they are sick of pubs and clubs yet seem to use the same criteria as they would if they were looking for people there.

scriobhneoir: Pretty spot on. My attitude always was if I went to the trouble of putting up a photo (bearing in mind I have no self confidence and hate being photographed) it's the least I expected in return.
That said, I understand the reasons why people wouldn't have a photo up. For some of those reasons I take my photo down regularly, given that I don't really use this site for dating much anymore. However, when I decide I'm going 'looking' I put my photo up again.

Well, my Ma says I'm good looking, so I guess I'm ok.
There's cameras everywhere now, difficult to avoid being photographed and put on the internet. A law of averages applies to photos - take 100 of them and some are bound to turn out good.

When someone says that they are fit and athletic, teetotaller and non smoker looking for same...that is not me!
When someone says they will reply only to a person with a pic...maybe it's just me...it makes me think that they care about/are hung up on looks.
Somebody who has bad /like really bad grammar might not share my interest in reading...oops sorry that would be me.
Looking for long term relationship puts me off because I think that is pressure...a meeting or relationship should take it's course and see where it goes....without the pressure of knowing that the other person is seeing if they want to spend the rest of their life with you.
Oh yeah nights in our out and loves walks on the beach makes me think the person is just angling...(No Pun intended)
