stanley8m: I have to say congrats on the win Perfect. Meath were by far the better team today and totally deserved their win. Best of luck in the Leinster final.
Thanks Stan...was amazing to see them come on so much...a surprise and pleasant win....
perfect9: Thanks Stan...was amazing to see them come on so much...a surprise and pleasant win.... Bring on the Dubs.....
I think ye will give the Dubs a run for their money. That was the old style Meath team that played today. Kildare will have to wait ans see who they get in the morning. i'd day they are not too pleased with the game today.
vinny1967: Wexford missed some amount of chances Jim.
Was the sending off justified ?
It was a justified sending off Vinny. Yes, Connolly was being pulled, dragged and on that occasion thrown to the ground but to retaliate with a punch was stupid.
Wexford shot a lot of wides but at the same time scored a few Hail Mary points and had their keeper to thank that they were not already a couple of goals behind.

skyblue43: The place was dead alright. The 2 favourites really seemed to believe all the publicity regarding the probable results and were extremely complacent. I'd say Dublin may have lost had the sending off not shaken them out of that complacent attitude. After it they were a different team.
The Meath fans were in shock, I think it was the 71st minute before they raised a decent chant. Kildare are fast developing a reputation as bottlers. Interesting to note that over the past few years they have not beaten a team of any real note in the championship.
.
I think you have it spot on Sky. The Kildare crowd were dangerously quiet in the second game.
Glengirl: I missed the sending off......I was having a wee snooze
A few upsets in the qualifiers today too....Armagh out, Fermanagh out (destroyed!!!), Antrim were lucky yesterday....
Ah I have to get the finger out...haven't been following things at all. Didn't even know the problems Louth were having just as I didn't know Kerry were playing without Sheehan against Cork. Lol.
Kildare fell to expectations again... a beaten docket at this stage I think. Too many good teams in the back door for them to get the easy run through that they got the last few years....then again Wicklow, Roscommon etc give Kildare a chance...
Lookin forward to seeing the Donegal game now...missed it yesterday..

If Kildare get a handy draw, you could see them still there in August, but like you, I think that boat has sailed now. I really thought they would up it a notch this year and make the infamous "breakthrough"

Not a lot you can tell about any games tonght on the Sunday Game...too many matches, too little time...

I've just remembered the best statement of the day......
Joe Brolly reckons Seanie Johnston is a great man when playing against a weak team......put him on against the likes of Antrim and he'll have the game of his life. His words, not mine

I saw that on the RTE website...he was livid. Kildare have disgraced themselves on that issue...
Glengirl: It's a joke!!!! Myself and Jimbo have already thrashed this out today
The showed a clip of him playing and you could hear Brolly saying, is that him calling for the ball? What was he going to do if he got it?
Ryan O Dwyer, the tipp man , or the Galway or limerick hurlers who have disgraced the "Good name " of Dublin Gaa could have done more with it I am sure,, Jeez,, what a pathetic attempt at a wind up, And a Donnie supporting the howyas,, def a first for me,,,

It's not a windup...Johnson is within the rules...just taking advantage of them in a way never done before. Cant remember O Dwyer playing football to make himself eligible...funny thing is Cavan might be longer in the championship...
skyblue43: Stan you'll have to stop drunk posting...
On a side note, I now count 5 from this thread that were at the games today and none of you managed to meet up for a drink/slagging match/discussion......

Well Done Donegal and Meath. Meath were well up for it and surprised me to be honest.
Bad luck Stan
Well at the time my assessment was correct.
