In all honesty most people would choose an attractive partner over a homely one, even while claiming that inner beauty was top priority in their search for a viable partner. It's just the way of the world. Beauty sells. And besides, who truly wants to look into the eyes and face of someone less than desireable for any length of time, much less a lifetime? It's noble sounding to claim you believe the contrary but you can't sell that hog to most!

LOL! You gave me a hearty chuckle. Claiming you are taking the high road and kicking looks to the side of the curb when seeking a potential partner is laughable at best but not plausible in the least.
Nothing personal, just calling it as I see it! Perhaps you wish to play the role of a martyr and take one for the team of the human race while marrying someone who is less than attractive? Possibly this speaks volumes about your lack of potential as a possible worthy suitor for most as opposed to your self desire to be perceived as a liberal do-gooder. Smiles.

I think looks are the first thing we judge a person by. However I have chosen to keep my photo of this site because I want to talk to someone and get to know them before making any external judgements which can be so superficial.

When people ask this question and say "surely it's what's on the inside that counts," I wonder if that person realizes he/she also considers looks when it comes to who they think is attractive or desireable. OP, I'm sure you would not find just any woman attractive: there are things you like in a woman that have to do with looks: everyone is like that. So appearance does matter to everyone because we have to be physically attracted to a person. Looks/appearance must mean more to women. Look at all the time and money they spend grooming, dressing, and supplementing themselves just to go to McDonald's. They even put their cell phones down while driving to adjust/add makeup or comb their hair. Loops....

Looks is not the most important feature of a person I believe.
Heart and mind are for sure!
However for two people to engage in a sentimental relationship there has to be a spark between them and that chemical attraction must be in place.
