so so many...I have seen David Bowie Live here in the NW 3 times. Each time they were new and full of energy. He had his old friend from childhood Peter Frampton playing Lead Guitar at his "Glass Spider Tour". I really wish I could have seen him when he put out the "Scary Monsters Super Creeps" Album.
thumbs up

I saw Bob Dylan at the Academy of Music In Philadelphia back in 66-67. That was when he rocked the folk music world by integrating folk with electric music. He did half the show solo and then brought in The Band. It was great. However a lot of folk aficionados were not happy with him bringing electric music into folk.
During his solo performance there were a few people that heckled him from a box seats close to the stage. He stopped in mid-song ,,, looked up at them and said ,, F,,ck You, and continued his performance. That was totally unheard of in those days,,

Dadude62: How many have heard of the Inkspots? Popular in the 50s. I was traveling for business down south and came across a tavern with a Billboard advertising THe Inkspots live. As a kid I loved hearing my parent play the old Inkspots LP on the console. So I stopped and took in the show. There was only one Inkspot left of the original group, but I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

George Thorogood and the destroyers, local boy, Newark Delaware,
ZZ Top,
Cannonball Adderly, Nat Adderly,
Dizzy Gillespy, funny looking trumpet,
One of the advantages of getting old(er)laugh is that we've lived through musical periods that younguns only read about. A lot of the artists we saw live are dead now and kids today will never get to experience what we have. It reminds me of a story told by a woman (possibly on this site) who, when she was a kid in school some guy came into the class and talked about being in a shipwreck. The little girl was totally bored at the time but years later she learned that the guest speaker, now long dead, was one of the last living survivors of the Titanic.

Thanks for that memory Oob. What does my heart good is to see how many younger people are discovering older music,,,,
