I dont have a pension, I dont have savings, I live from year to year with the next year in mind. Im 40 in 6 weeks and I dont care.
I am currently working in an odious job making obscene amounts of money, and in April 2008, I will quit the job, fly to the States, buy a large motorcycle and ride around the States/Canada visiting freinds.
Life is too short to be worried where the next cent/penny/pfennig/rappen is coming from. If you can drive a car, you are always employable.
So, get off the idea that life is so hard and make it fun.

Esp. don't worry about the 'Pfennig' because those don't exist anymore anyway (1/10th of German Mark now Euro-cent!) 
Life is....a fill-in-the blank; is it the difference between being on the autobahn or being in the autobahn, going 120k just to keep up with the slower traffic...metaphorically or literally; in restaurants where they serve frog's legs, what do they do with the rest of the frog? Do they just throw it away? You never see "frog torsos" on the menu. Is there an actual garbage can full of frog bodies in the alley? Would you like to be a homeless person looking for an unfinished chicken leg and open the lid on that... ummm, speaking of food, I have to prepare dinner, no more pate' and Cointreau; perhaps if just pour the rest of the bottle into the soup pot, no one will care if there is a main course afterwards....decisions, decisions, Life is full of them.....

Life is hard because some people don't realise how precious life is, or just don't care or think about how their actions will affect other people's lives, and through the actions of these kind of people, others may feel or have just cause to feel that life is cruel.
