WhatUwish4: Currently the top 20 percent of the population - those making $350,00 or more - are paying 94 perent of the nation's taxes. More than half the population pays NO taxes, and many of them receive entitlements such as food stamps, welfare, etc.

So let me ask you something. How long can "the government" continue to fund all this stuff when there's no money left?

Only a liberal/democrat would think that they are entitled to it. But then again, it is all about merit and responsibility.

TheresMyFriend: Morning girl...long time no chat...hope you're doing well.
I couldn't help but notice the comment above, and thought to myself..."mmm, now what can I do, to help this well deserving, hard working friend out?" Conclusion: "Transfer your savings over to my bank"... (will send account info later for said transaction). That should shut them up, and allow you the needed solution to all the "red tape" for this issue. I promise to send monthly "spending reports" from whichever Vacation site I might be at at the time. AND...as a bonus... guarantee to send a tiny trinket from said location, w/card of thanks and "wishing you were here", and that you are doing well. Hey, what are friends for? Right? hahahaha

I hope that brought a smile and a smidgin of hope....
Just mess'n with ya...you have a good weekend....
Your friend, ~JOHN~

Hi John wave hug ....Yes, you did bring a smile to mee face. With today being Saturday and the bank being closed I'm afraid the transfer will have to wait until.....oh maybe.....nevah....laugh

But maybe we could do a transfer the other way around...That would be very helpful...flirty

I believe we can take what Margeret Thatcher said to the bank..... "the worst thing about socialism is, sooner or later you run out of other people's money."

Oregongold: This has been the most irresponsible administration ever, the only good thing is that some people who voted for him are actually waking up to the lies of Obama. Romney is the way to go.... Anyone else is just cowardice.

ttom500: A correction to this OP. REP Ryan is not the son of Texas REP Ryan.
His father died at a young age.

He probably got the information from the media, just as I did. I got the same information as he did, which means the media got it wrong, too. :( It sucks when the media can't get it right.

Another way to look at those very same statistics is to say that more than half the population is at the poverty level and most of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of the very wealthy.

Ryan wants to drastically cut Medicaid. My ex is disabled and cannot work at all, through no fault of her own. Ryan's proposal would affect poor people like my ex. It took her 10 years and a lawsuit with her lawyer to get her benefits in the first place, and now Ryan wants to do something that directly affects poor and middle class people.

And that's the perfect situation for a populist leader to rally the rabble into some sort of revolutionary movement to steal all the wealth from everybody (except the super-rich of course).

The two parties work together.

Neither the democrats nor the republicans cares for the poor.
They both promote the same wars and the same bailouts and the same gutting of the economy.

The only difference is their rhetoric.

The wealth of the nation is indeed being redistributed.
But its flow is not toward the poor.
It's trickling up to the super-rich.

I am not sure what gov't medical programs your wife requires and has access too. But look down the road a piece. Obama's ACA cut 700b from
medicare. Romney is going to replace ACA and place some of the 700b back into medicare. Is my thinking.

Romney is the top man in the ticket. He installed a health coverage plan in MA as a governor. Agreed it will be less funded that the ACA. The ACA he intends to cut 100%, But for your wife, since the ACA does not begin till 2014. She is not getting any benefits for it now.
But don't discount compassionate conservative values here. REP have nothing to gain by seeing medical access denied to ailing Americans.

Doing that only will cost them votes in the next several elections.

I would love to see how it would affect her status. Of course Dems are going to play the "scare tactic" card...it's all they have left.

Have you heard how it will affect the poor (factually) and not from a DNC website? cheers

The Republicratic Party doesn't care about votes.
Elections are little more than simulated computer games nowadays.
Not even real to the point of having genuine user input.
And both parties represent the same interests.

But they DO care somewhat about the responsibilities which their administrations intend to renig upon, such as healthcare and retirement benefits.

The ideal from their point of view is to pretend to keep the promises but in fact to undercut them as much as possible.

Obama-care is the perfect manner in which to accomplish this. Especially seeing that money will be taken out of people's paychecks for several years before any sort of benefits become available.

By the time people realize they have been shafted they will already have invested a lot more money into the scam. Money that they will never recover in any way.

Congressman Paul Ryan is best known as the author of a budget so radical The New York Times called it "the most extreme budget plan passed by a House of Congress in modern times." With Mitt Romney's support, Ryan would end Medicare as we know it and slash the investments we need to keep our economy growing -- all while cutting taxes for those at the very top.

Let's see now, republicans lost the womens vote due to their war on women trying to take away their reproductive rights.

They lost the Latino vote by taking an extremely hard line on immigration.

They lost the blue collar vote by siding with the ultra rich like Zionist Sheldon Adelson and the big oil Koch brothers

They lost the environmentalist vote by wanting to eliminate the EPA.

Now they are losing the senior vote by wanting to repeal the Affordable Care Act and to cut Medicare and privatize it like George Bush attempted (and failed) to do.

What group is left to alienate?

Romney just gave the Democrats an early Christmas present picking Paul Ryan for VP. Of course he could have picked a worse VP had he picked Gov Bob McDonald from Virginia. Had he done that he would have lost a key swing state.

I would be a lot more interested in what the Wall St. Journal has to say over the New York Times, since we all know the New York Times is the most radical left-wing publication known to man. Either way, we are living in extreme financial crisis...don't you think a radical plan might be in order?
