royallee: This has to be the biggest load of crap i ever attempted to read .......... I could not finish Part 1

For those of you who read it, what is your opinion on the book?

Chewing gum for the mind.

My guess is that the age and experience of the reader would dictate how it is received. Readers without the benefit of age or experience may have found it raunchy or an education, while those of us who have been around a bit longer might find it more of a memory jogging exercise. Cereal boxes have more enlightened reading.

I read book one while on hols and found it repetitive, and content wise it didn't impress. I'd seen status updates on FB claiming it to be the most 'un-put-downable' book ever. I'd be in no rush to read the second.

Christian licks his lower lip.
“Oh, we’re going to have some fun with this, Ana.” Reaching down he grasps the bar and twists it so I flip on to my front. It takes me by surprise.
“See what I can do to you?” he says darkly and twists it again abruptly, so I am once more on my back, gaping up at him, breathless.
“These other cuffs are for your wrists. I’ll think about that. Depends if you behave or not.”

When I was in college, studying design, we used to use a particular kind of marking for doing illustrations and diagrams, called 'Pantone Markers'.

There was lots of different shades of grey, such as:

In fairness I've read the 3 of them. I've read better. Me old flatmate used to have far better years ago. Seriously sick and depraved stuff. This is tame at best. If you spent all your life as a goody-two-shoes 50 Shades would make a bit of a tingle. Otherwise no. And for some strange reason, I don't think there's many goody-two-shoes around these parts.

Don't think it is always a case of being a goody-two-shoes or not, just life's journey. A lot of people married young and for many, many years lol also upbringing, personal choice, confidence, personality etc etc all come into play as to one's experiences.

I shall let you know what I think of them when I eventually read them, though my sister-in-law recommended I should be dating when reading them, to protect mail man laugh

Well if you are self identifying with something I wrote above, you should get it. For a few reasons, but, for the biggest reason is you might see yourself in at least one of his women. And I guess that is why it is popular among the mainstream. Not because of what and how it's written but because more people could identify with it.
