Quite often i come across a checkpoint by the Cops and begrudginly i comply with showing a licence or what ever...I drive off mumbling about being delayed.
recently i was awarded 2 points for doing 60kmh in a 50kmh zone and again i look at the cops grudgingly..

walking around international airports i look at armed men/women but see a uniform not a person and think a good slap would disarm them and then i could really light the place up Is there really a need for this.

But when your out and meet these people, their normally decent people just doing a thankless task...

So do you see the Person or the Uniform

Considering where I live I not only see the person but I know the person.

I don't like the looks of that second pic. She looks like one of them 'pegging' fans. Ouch!

facetowardsfront: Funny that because the mojority of Garda in Ireland are men. There wouldn't be a connection, would there?

A connection with men? What are you on about? You need medication. I am glad to see you took down your ghostbusters pic anyway. roll eyes

My brother is a guard and my uncles used to be.....and I was seeing a soldier a few yrs back. SO I see the person not the uniform.
I see the day to days lives they have. I see my own brother juggle having young kids and a mortgage and all the same issues and problems everyone else has in their lives. And since my mother was a teacher for 40yrs I also see the thankless task that is too.

Yes we judge people in a instance when we first meet them......but as I said in a comment earlier today.....its up to us whether or not we allow ourselves to open up to changing from those first impressions. handshake

I suppose its all about personal experience and the way we percieve people. As I said before I have no time for them. They think the law does not apply to them and it is one law for them and one for us. I have not met one that is nice or helpfull. Even when I have to get something stamped in the Station they always act like they are doing you a favour and not their job.

Perhaps it's how you approach the task. Going in there all hot-headed wont necessarily get you a wine and roses reception.

I dont go in hot headed. Why would I? I only need to get passport pics stamped or report my driving licence lost /stolen. I go in perfectly normal.

They are the ones who then have the attitude that you are making them do some work and they act like they are doing you a favour.

The last time I was getting passport forms signed, for my son, the Garda couldn't have been nicer. I had to go with my ex in tow (scary at the best of times) and the Garda picked up on my mood/body language. He rang me about 20 minutes later to ask if I was safe and if I needed a car around. Above and beyond the call of duty.

He should have been calling your ex to see if he had a frying pan stuck in the back of his head laugh

So what was this 'body language' that made a man in uniform go the extra few inches? Can you post a vid? applause
