I think you may be referring to a show called "The Waltons" at the end of each program they all say "goodnight" to each other.
Not exactly a carbon copy of real country folk, but entertaining.
Chinese students all say they want to live in India because they are influenced by glossy Bollywood films, the reality is usually far more bland and not what you expect at all!
