I hope that you have less pain then joy. I hope that you see things before they hit you harder than they try. I hope that you have the good that all people can enjoy. I have many scars both of the flesh and of the soul. In the times that you will look back and think about your youth ( decades from now ) look back and savour the moments of joy and treasure the people that gave you Love, when you think of the bad things try like hell to use it as a tool to avoid re-occurrence. You have many many lives ahead of you that you will interact with. Always remember that not all these lives will show their pain in the eyes, or of the flesh. Some will turn their head and fly away, you can use your pain to learn and be a healer to those that were turned away. There, you see it, that is all that matters in this moment, the next will be your chance to put it into action. I send you not luck but a confidence that you will choose wisely.

Daveland: I was once hurt after a 7 years relationship. Third party sucks! Now I can see life sometimes as stupidly unfair. Since 9 years old, my parents parted ways, they live now freely with their own families in different countries. I do and live my own, I never felt real love then.
Thinking that love is just "four" common letters from the lips! The heart can't even speak for itself! Often I want to love from the heart not from the lips alone but my mind refuse! If you are in my shoe, will you do the same?

Dave, life deals us some low blows. It is how you handle them that counts. Your parents are only human...and probably had their own issues to deal with that you as a child could not understand. Take some time to remember whatever good times there were and keep that your way - to see the glass as half full rather than half empty.
Keep your heart open but turn on the "alarm system" to use past hurts as your instinct to avoid future hurts
I have loved and lost more times than I care to remember....but I prefer that to having never loved...so I hope you can let your life experiences mature into the kind of young man who would never want to hurt another...never want to be the cause of that kind of pain
if the hurts you have experienced can do that for you....then maybe there was a "reason" that those hurts have made you the kinder and more sympathetic man than you would have been had those things not happened
