Well a lot depends on the bait your using...A lot of fishies are immune to some of the bait bandied around and avoid at all costs yay

Yeah...you're probably right Marianette. Unless they explicitly say they're "Not single/Not looking", it's frustrating then for those who genuinely *are* looking.

scriobhneoir: Seemingly none of them want me, ouch! I know I said yesterday I'm not going to go ott looking for someone and that's still true, but yesterday for the hell of it I went on Plenty of Fish and sent no fewer than 25, yes 25 messages to women and got not a single reply. That's right, 0. Now I no it's all a bit of fun but talk about striking out.

scriobs. you're never gonna get a whole load of replies, most important imo when a lass reads your profile is that she sees you as being fun, but with a serious side too. at the same time, not everyone you mail is gonna be serious about the dating thing, moreso on a free site when some people join when they don't even know what they want. there's one paid site that imo is the best if you wanna go on dates. email me if you want the name

Oh, and IF they don't "leave you alone" after that - I can't for the life of me see what is so hard about hitting the "Ban user" button, or whatever it's called. Report them etc.
It's a realm of power that you ladies inadvertently do gain, though by the sounds of it, most reluctantly.
But you *have* the power then nonetheless, to be decent and reply to decent letters, and then to bar them if you see fit.

I would do it. Have done it too rather than just blanking someone's nice offering to me.

dunno

Erm, I don't know you and I'm sure you're an intelligent, sound guy, but to be honest - and I'm sorry, if I stomp on your feet here - going on a dating site and sending that many messages out on St. Stephen's Day(?) seems a little more than, erm, desperate.

Apart from that, you say you went on the site "for the hell of it" (maybe that shone through in those messages?!): Does that mean you weren't really interested in any of the women behind the profiles you mailed and only sent out the messages to see if you get a response? If that were to be the case, maybe the ladies were right not to respond?

No offence intended, just wondering.

Green_Sleeves: Should be, but, in reality, isnt. I've never been anything but civil when blasting off a message to someone, but them bee-atches womens just dont reply, like I said earlier, of all those that didnt reply, only one actually said thanks but no thanks. I honestly dont care, I take a no reply as just not interested, move onto the next one

Fair enough GS. What more can be said I guess?
It'd be so easy to turn the place into a much nicer place, with just some small changes. No Utopia, but a *lot* nicer.
Girls not replying to *me* isnt'something that effects *me* now glad to say!
Cheers Bud cheers

KNenagh: Well, that's why I hardly reply to any mail as I pointed out earlier. I am polite and if I see one of the few rare emails who actually bothered to read my profile I send an reply but still some of them...

So after "poor me" threads of men - I try to make an effort TBH, I don't care and make extensive use of the block button.

a lady like yourself is worth the effort

Thanks Wade, that's up to everyone himself to decide, but if I said before, if someone does write something nice, I do reply.
