I registered here in July 2010, recently separated and not yet divorced, looking for someone local. And I specified US only but as things would have it, through the poetry corner and some discussions on the forums, I ended up engaging in PM's with the lovely LadyBee42 from Ireland. Little did I know what was to come. And within a couple months, I began thinking maybe Ireland isn't so far, after all. We met for the first time in Waterford, Ireland in September 2010 for a week. Then again in November on the Outer Banks of NC for a week. Then she visited me for Christmas and stayed until March. Since then, it's been around three months together and three months separated with the separations getting more and more painful with each iteration.
Our Visa Journey (visajourney.com was an outstanding aid) began in February 2012 as we submitted the paperwork to start the K1 process. Now, almost a full year later, we are days away from her getting her K1 visa stamped passport in the mail and we'll be looking for the first flight out of Dublin the moment she has that passport in her lovely little hands.
I've never met anyone that I've been such fast friends with nor anyone I could be happier about spending my life with. There are lots of scammers on this site but also some truly amazing people and I am eternally grateful that there was some venue that allowed us to meet because I'm not one for irrational metaphysical musings, but if there is a soul mate, I am convinced that it's my fiance. She is truly a treasure to me.

Wishing you all the health and happiness in this world on your wedding"
A couple years ago the same thing happened to two other members. She moved here from Ireland to be with him in New York and awhile later they got married.
So you can find love and the happily ever after feeling on CS
Wedding present -------> ---------> flowers for the bride
Hey there babe, we've had quite an adventure in the last 2+ years and I'm still so in love with you. The separations though painful have brought us to this point and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now - as in just a few weeks from our wedding. I'd do it all again if I had to just to be with you because for me you are the most wonderful man in the Universe.
There are many wonderful people on this site and I'll always be thankful for their friendship and wisdom, so thank you indeed CS for making this particular future possible
Ladybee42: Love often happens when you are not even trying - good luck in your search shaaz

Very Best Wishes on the visa, the flight and your marriage!!!
Threads pop up every few weeks, "Does this site really work?" "Are there only scammers on here?" "Aren't there any real and serious people out there?"
I want to slap the people upside the head that respond negatively, and that there is close to zero to 1 percent chance. I don't know where they're looking, but in the two years I've been on here, I have had the honor of seeing love matchings happening and it continues to thrill me and give me hope that maybe, one day, I will find my partner as well.
