I am so glad Australians don't get so het up about religion and politics. it isn't that we don't care....we just don't seem to make huge issues of it.

Scubadiva: In the pre-Obama days, companies used to simply lay off people instead when they became a "liability." (Anyone over 40 is a liability to a company from a financial risk perspective). Not sure what one has to do with the other. More people are ending up without health care coverage because of obamacare.

In the pre-Obama days, a good education was only available to the wealthy and the wealthy districts because the poor districts couldn't pay the teachers and materials. Most of the money was sucked up by administrators. A good post-high education in the USA has always been available to those who wanted it and without the gross indebtedness people are going into for advanced degrees today! changing Amercans from being hard working honest dependable people is an obama thing.

Obama has nothing to do with property taxes. That's a state level decision. Your state probably mismanaged the money and I am willing to bet that what they're charging you more now does not go straight to education and the elderly,... or it does to for education/elderly because it didn't in the past. I used to pay 14 grand a year, 10 years ago in property tax to fund the public schools in my district. Anyone who pays less has nothing to whine about in my opinion. Obama has everything to do with the property taxes rising to support pre-college public education. It's a trickle down thing effected by Obammies insistence on QE aggravated by other things like people unwilling to pay property taxes because they no longer receive any benefits from paying them.... i.e. 50% of property owners haven't paid their property taxes for the first half of 2011 yet, in Detroit. So who is going to bail out Detroit? the state tax payer, maybe but the u.s.a fed. gov. (all of us) will pick up most of the tab, I'm sure.

Yes, CD rates dropped a LOT long before Obama... why? Because your buddy GW gave the investment banks card blanche to do a lot of dirty business. CDs are nothing but loans to banks to cover operational cost. The banks did not lose any money when Bush this so-called "financial crisis" hit. GW, before his term ended, made sure the banks got paid with tax payer money (talk about reverse socialism) and they are cashing in double and triple right now. I blame Obama for not putting a stop to that crap. Bush did a lot less harm to the private banking system than comrade obama has. Oh for the days of president lincoln who took the role of the banking system head from the private bankers and printed and issued National Backed "Notes".

Re the Oil, again, something that happened long before Obama. The oil thing i.e. new pipe line from canada (JOBS) is an obama thing. Killing fossil fuels, period, is an obama thing. penalizing and eliminating jobs in SE Ohio coal country is an OBAMA THING!

Ccincy: People should be more worried about Congress than the president.

Congress has controled the purse strings so to speak for many centuries.Neither party can be all that dumb if they can pull the wool over our eyes.They get people to vote for them.
