galrads: What is to fear is when Congress majority is the same party as the president and the president sets the agenda or should set the agenda if the president is leading.
Furthermore it doesn't matter and besides Congress isn't always the very same exact party as any president to control the purse strings.

Cities have been run by democrats for 40 years. Most democrat areas of the country, people suffer and the city, town, state is going bankrupt. Repubs have some good ideas like school choice, empowerment zones to bring in business. Dems tax the hell out of everything and people are leaving the cities in droves. Repubs actually enforce the laws while liberal judges let people go free. Even p*dophile are given slaps on the wrist. I am so sick of the dems running the country into the ground. These cities have to wake up and get off the democrat plantation.

I don't know about religion but We saner Americans don't want to give up any Freedoms which are constantly under attack by democrats today who are in favor of a more socialist country.
I guess that is probably why we are perceived, maybe, for making a huge deal out of it.

Depending on who we are we DO have 'issues'. One hotbed of interest over the past several years has been the detention centres for assylum seekers.
I, personally, am a member of 'get-up' which is an organisation which places ads on TV and radio as well as facebook to change what we see as an injustice e.g. children in detention centres, saving the barrier reef from mining, japanese whaling in Antarctica etc. By e-mailing local/state/federal pollies we have managed to draw attention to matters we feel are being ignored.

We don't have a list such as 'the ammendments' which seem to be the American version of the Ten Commandments (and I mean no disrespect here)....we just don't have it. And we would NEVER support the 'right to bear arms' here for the population in general.
No-one has ever actually defined what they see as 'socialist' and 'communist' before. I often see this relating to the proposed new medical care in the U.S.A. Surely that is a GOOD thing??

In the pre-Obama days, a good education was only available to the wealthy and the wealthy districts because the poor districts couldn't pay the teachers and materials. Most of the money was sucked up by administrators.
Obama has nothing to do with property taxes. That's a state level decision. Your state probably mismanaged the money and I am willing to bet that what they're charging you more now does not go straight to education and the elderly,... or it does to for education/elderly because it didn't in the past. I used to pay 14 grand a year, 10 years ago in property tax to fund the public schools in my district. Anyone who pays less has nothing to whine about in my opinion.
Yes, CD rates dropped a LOT long before Obama... why? Because your buddy GW gave the investment banks card blanche to do a lot of dirty business. CDs are nothing but loans to banks to cover operational cost. The banks did not lose any money when Bush this so-called "financial crisis" hit. GW, before his term ended, made sure the banks got paid with tax payer money (talk about reverse socialism) and they are cashing in double and triple right now. I blame Obama for not putting a stop to that crap.

That's not correct Pices. The additional one is the Independent party. That is for those who aren't Reps or Dems. They make their mind up at the last minute who they will vote for. Their vote isn't always for a particular person to win but more for someone in the other party not to win. It's confusing but just wanted you to know that there are three parties.
