My nephew was a toddler and was always asking his mammy for more salt on his dinner, she used to put her finger over the hole at the top of the salt cellar and shake it over his dinner....he didn't realise he was actually not getting any salt!
He happily ate his dinner after that......bless......

Oh lord, this one was doing the rounds when I was a teenager, but still, it is amazing how many will fall for it
