rohaan: I still live as close to the earth as I can, and although I can and do use some electronic devices, it is sparingly. I have a landline telephone with a few basic features. Cable T.V. out of necessity (not very good reception here without it), only recently did I buy a micro-wave oven, which I don't use very much. I have no cell phone(s), no I-Pods/Pads, notebooks, or computers of any kind. (I use a public computer. This may change in the future). Did you know that people who resist the electronic age are discriminated against? Difficult to get work, even if that work is non-technical. Bank loans difficult if you aren't "playing the electronic game". Applications now ask for e-mail, twitter and facebook addresses, and if you don't write it for them, or don't have them, they act like they think you're stupid, or an oddball.
I agree 100% with what you are saying, You are just like me. I don't use a microwave anymore! I also don't--gasp!--watch tv! However, I can't live w/o the internet...LOL. But yeah, EMFs from that, too. I could not use another dating site which was asking for "my" cell phone number!

Oh I see you do still have a phone there Rohaan...I was concerned because I have not heard from you lately!! I miss you!!
Regarding cell phones. Ugh hate them. But I do have one for my children to call when I turn my house phone off during a bad migraine. The kids need to check in. But I forget I have it and the battery dies all the time, I do keep a charger in my car - just in case.
Cell phones are good for emergencies, but that is all I use mine for.

Hi Sweetie. My bad for not calling, here's my excuse: I want to call you, but do not want to appear to be pestering you. The couple of times we've talkied (note to other members--crazy and I are , like, girlfriends; our moons are in the same house, whatever...) have been great. Still, I am respectful that there are so many people out there who bother others and I don't want to come across that way. Hope that 'splains it all. Tell you what, I'll call tonight, around 7, Calif. time. Okay? Love you, railly I do!
Ccincy: I agree with you Ro no one should be forced or thought of as being freaky just because they don't choose to have a cell phone.I donated mine to the troops had no reason to keep it.
Hey darls! where yu been? Nice to see you. We are having such incredible weather here on the gorgeous Oregon coast. It's very warm, breezy, feels like Hawaii. I am so lucky...and only a little distance from the beaches, and just a couple blocks from the bay.

PrettyPrescious: I don't have a cell phone. Whenever a man finds this out, I never hear from him again. What is going on? Do they think I am some kind of a freak? or is making a phone call not the thing to do these days? Advice?
I thought I was the only person left who never had a cell lol

I've been sick the last couple weeks. My sinuses have been acting up cause of all the pollen blowing around.
It's been nice here too but it's been kinda hard to venture outdoors a lot cause of my sinuses.
Next Wednesday my guy and I are taking a two day trip down to Tennessee.
Going to stay in a luxury suite in Pigeon Forge and then on to Gatlinburg and Cades Cove.I'll be packing my sinus meds.

She obviously wants to meet a guy and not having a phone isn't helping. When she finds one she can get rid of the phone if she wants to.
It doesn't matter if it's fair or not that not having a cell phone gives a bad impression to people that barely know her, but nonetheless people she wishes to attract.. The rest of the world exists and you have to live in regard of this fact. Life is conditional, get over it.
Glatlol: I find that intriguing,, how does that work?
Below is a link about how AT&T has a collection box in which to drop off your cell phone to donate to the troops.Mine was laying around gathering dust so I thought what better thing to then by giving it to the troops and it's also a was worthy cause.I figured after all my son is in the Army. Sprint and T-Mobile also had donation boxes too.

I would like to encourage you to do whatever you really want to do, and be totally content with who you are and the choices and lifestyle you want. You do not have to "get over it", any more than anyone else in America does. We did not fight for our pursuit of happiness for nothing. I believe there is someone who falls on your same page, and you will not need to compromise. Life is exquisite. Get what you want, and have it YOUR way. I strongly recommend it.

So you're saying that she won't meet a guy unless she has a cell phone.
Gosh I wonder how people long ago surived and met their men without a cell phone.
Did you bother to ask the OP in question if she was being contacted by scammers? They love playing games with people.
I haven't had a cell phone since... oh... how many years ago was that, and I don't miss it at all. With access to a computer, who needs a cell phone? (skype works fairly well).
The cell phone overheated and the little ear mics never fit in my tiny ear canals, so my ears got too hot. I also considered the chance that brain tumors might be caused by cell phone use (Mobile phones can cause brain tumours, court rules www.telegraph.co.uk/health/9619514/Mobile-phones-can-cause-brain-tumours-court-rules..html).
As a kid, I was never the one to rush to the phone to answer it in our home and spending time outside playing with friends took precedence over talking to people on the phone. When someone tells me I need a phone, I shrug and ask, Why? Email and skype work.
I don't worry about whether I'll need a phone in an emergency... first responders may not arrive quickly enough to make a difference anyway. Life is full of risks and if I plan ahead, I find it easy enough to mitigate those risks.
It is interesting that there are very few payphones around anymore. I wonder if that phenomenon is akin to when city rail tracks were torn out and people were forced to buy cars because the easy commute system was destroyed?

The men must be scammers.
I donated my cell phone to the troops and don't miss not having it.
Thank U for telling me I'm not a freak. People consider me interesting, funny and intelligent.
