Angel woman...My prayers will always be with you. My Uncle suffered from MS. His wife left him and he died a lonely man. YOU on the other hand have many that love you as I do...and will always be with you, on your side, and holding your hand. Love to you. I'm holding your hand.
Oh honey. I knew something was amiss. But, I didn't know what. I will most certainly pray for you and, if not a cure, then hope. Sometimes it's the hope that keeps us up and going. Keep us posted. I will look forward to hearing that you feel better. Gods speed and Gods healing embrace. Kat
Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. I'm a bit nervous about it, but I'm sure everything will go ok. I've never done something like this before, so I guess it's to be expected.
Phase 1 of this is complete. So far I meet all the criteria. They took 20 tubes of blood from me after sticking me 6 times. Now I have to wait 10-14 days for the results of the blood work. As long as they find the marker that they need, then I will go for an MRI, and then we start the actual trial.
Unfortunately, they said that there's certain things I should avoid in order for them to find the marker. One of them is ginseng, the others I'm not worried about. I had something with ginseng about 2 weeks ago, I'm hoping it won't interfere with this blood work that was done today. If they don't find the marker in this blood work, then when I come back in January they will redo the blood work. I also have to be sure I don't have another episode with the MS between now and then, otherwise I'll have to start over from scratch.
Is it just me or does this seem like a very delicate and complicated process?
Yes, and I even drove home right after they were done taking all 20 tubes of blood
I can't wait either. I'm afraid of going back to NY considering the cold weather and what happened last winter as a result of it. I'm just going to hope and pray that I'm ok while I'm back up there.
The "Old Fart" is at work, but I'll tell him when I pick him up after work.
We get to do something that not many friends get to do...Battle an incurable disease. Even the Dr that is running this study has a lot of confidence with this clinical trial. I think that says a lot about it. Besides, he's a native New Yorker too, so he can't be all that bad.
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers Pati. You are always in mine as well.
Hey Cris gald to hear the the initial visit went well. It sounds like theuy took quite a bit of blood from you, and can't believe it took them that many times, of sticking you, to get the blood.Hope everything goes well for you and I want to let you know that I will be thinking of you.
Thank you Dave. Them sticking me as many times as they did is pretty much standard procedure. My veins are so tiny that they're lucky they can get any blood at all from me. LOL
