classicboy: i heard many friends and people, this man has wealth blah blah,,,
there are a lot of person who have high education and high moral values but no body care about them
i had discussion with some people about wealth and respect when i was backhome, they told me ,wealth is only one thing for getting famous and to be respected in society
It is seen that wealth magic is really impressing people ,not the values and education of people

wealthy people may have high morals and values too...wealth is a result of hard work and determination(unless inherited or from criminal activity) and it doesn't bring fame nor respect...respect is earned by treatment of others.

i know both poor and wealthy people,i don't treat one different than the other...some wealthy people are the most decent and honest ppl you will meet as are some poorer(individuality).

for some making money is just a game that they enjoy...if their successful then best of luck to them head banger

the answer to your question is no...unless were narrow minded!!!

both wealthy and poor people may be educated.
''there are a lot of person who have high education and high moral values but no body care about them'' who said???

education doesn't guarantee success,it can be an advantage.
in many instances streetwise will understand the world around them better than educated.

Speaking of educated people, you can't have a criteria. You can have one criterion or two or more criteria.

according to your vocabulary it is right.. now according to the Latin where it all comes from it should be only criterium / criteria .. so you know .. we can always debate for a very long time on what are education culture and all syntax criteria LOL

Jillll: For sure. An ER nurse makes about four times that of the person processing the paperwork.
Not in South Africa, here nursing is one of the lowest paid jobs, ridiculous isn't it?

I have dealt with some of the rich and they were rude and arrogant, the fact is there are very few people that are wealthy that are also down to earth. Those are the wealthy I respect. Respect doesn't come from wealth, I think how you live your life is how your respected, would you stop someone who is in need, do you give your spare time to charity, will you listen to a friend when they need your ear. This I think is what most people take into consideration, the kind of thinking that you get respect because your wealthy is truely empty.professor wink dunno

The problem is that any sophist can convince you that they have education and values, but this doesn't mean that they're worth anything to the economy, Humanity or society... And in fact, in the West many a sophist draws a high living for being essentially worthless and there will be numbers of these ppl just on the CS forum.

From the most backward of peasants to the cleverest of sillies, what commands respect is the merit of what they do. Power is not respected per se, it's what you do with power that counts.

Unfortunately too many people are wealthy just because they are famous and they are famous just with being famous. One can hardly have any respect for such people.

yes perhaps they don't get the same recognition as wealthy people even though do more work but am sure the ppl of their communities appreciate them more so...but also is plenty of wealthy people that give and like to remain anonymous.

Totally. We place our lives in their hands while the hospital administrator sits behind a desk and makes hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

Wealth always was a criteria for respect in society and its quickly become the only criteria that people are measured by.

This may be true for most. Blame it on our value system.

It depends on the culture.

In my country wealthy people are not automatically respected, the origen of their wealth matters for many people -not all-.
