Green_Sleeves: Nailed it in one! Bloody hell, and I thought I take life in general too serious! The day I start taking a forum on an internet dating site seriously then I know there's no hope for me!
It's not so much the forums or the content, its whether you can take the people behind all that seriously. If not, why bother with them at all?
What we see/read on the forums is all we can really use to assess anyone, and determine whether you actually want to get to know them.
Im here 2 years and do believe like others have said, that this place goes in swings and roundabouts.
When I was here a few months there seemed to be nothing but political threads some of which I got into very heated debates over.
Now there are the anti-feminist threads, in 6 months time there will be something else which rattles peoples cages.

Having been on this site for over a year now ,and having read most of the comments on this particular thread ,I agree with most of the posters on much of what has been said .
This site is a mirror reflection of real life --remember there is a REAL person behind each post , that person is going to have their own individual thoughts and opinions on differing topics .
As in real life , there are those who have pretty much the same mindset as ourselves --however there are going to be others who's opinion and general take on life will be hugely different to our own .
Some here are tough skinned ! some are softer in heart -
Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion in a reasoned way -not in a way that attacks a person's character or reputation .
It 's about what is acceptable and unacceptable behaviour by the decent majority --it's fundamentally about what is morally right and morally wrong . But again , everyone's view on this will differ slightly .
If someone is being unjustly abused , they most certainly have the right to defend themselves .
As in real life , those who can be hateful , should be treated with apathy
in an online situation , if someone is abusive , and they have never even interacted with you --don't know you as a person , well their opinion is immaterial
I have a lot to thank C/S for - I have made many good friends - male and female - the strength of those friendships has only gotten stronger over the last 10 days or so ,
Have I lost a few friends , yes a few --but again that reflects in real life --sometimes so-called friends hurt us badly and let us down --it is always sad to loose a friend .
My friendships here have gone from strength to strength over the last year , and I have gained quite a few more over the last week , which has been lovely .
My time on here so far , I have to say overall ( despite serving a ban that should have been served by another poster who broke the rules ) , has been very positive .
Those who I mail , text ,chat with from c/s on the phone , Skype , and who have visited here with me in my home in Donegal have enriched my life . I count myself very lucky to know you .
We are all so very different --some are very strong characters -some like myself are quieter -
Voice opinions surely -but I guess it all comes down to how you express them .
Have fun, enjoy the craic and the banter , support one another , learn from one another
But most of all , as Ellen says at the end of every one of her shows ,,
"Be kind to one another "

Like, when you attribute "anti women/propaganda" to me. That's what the Zionists do when you criticise Israel. They say, "oh, so you are against Jews". You see, that way they can hide their evil behind their religion and that's what Feminists do when they hide their evil behind their gender.
It's a very dishonest leftist technique for deflecting an argument.

I was going to let this lie .... really I was....but I can't!
I had never heard of your Straw Man arguing techniques before, thought it might be like Gas Lighting....so I read up on it (ah the internet is a wonderful tool)
What really stood out in the new knowledge I learned is this bit
