I say YES. not only for the traumatic experience of mental illness. Most of the humanity is hurt, and hurt others. this is because is difficult to trust find friends and feel secure .

pedro27: awareness would be the first step, an understanding second step and so on...
And that's exactly what I try to do with the dyslexia/ADD/Autism/etc. stuff.
People are often considered weird and shunned, when its just a matter of perecieving and thinking differently. The more people understand how it all works, the less frightened, or negative they'll be about it, the more they'll enjoy other's abilities.
I think its much the same with mental illness. Obviously there can be very debilitating aspects, but very often those who have become well, or have a handle on things in some way have some unique abilities and insight into a different world.

i make threads to bring light to those who are suffering an awareness some people think there unstoppable , i would not in a million years think i would end up suffering with mental perdictuments, no one know what life has in store for them
most people have great fears, don't talk or admit they have a problem, for the same stigmas. The misinformation and ignorance are terrible. people laugh and I'm said'' normal'' but many have emotional and mental problems that do not want to admit,

I have been supporting MIND the mental health charity in the UK for 14 years now, every month. I recommend them as a worthy cause to anyone who wants to make a difference.
In response to: stigma can hinder recovery from a tramtic experince of mental illness our fight against stigma can help familys all over the world and save lifes
sadly not everywhere in the world there are facilities people can go to, they end up on the streets or shoved into a run down place, where they live off donations from the public

Will we succeed in finding a cure for this before we find a cure for cancers? ...
I wish i knew all the answers, but i think the LACK OF GOVERNMENT SUPPORT. It is an NGO that runs the place, and also most people live see no evil, hear no evil lives so if it doesn't affect them directly they dont care
