Sunny143: I am saying this from personal experience,I have realised one thing a persons mind is damn complicated,if you want to be peaceful you can turn to religion for sure, but I practised vipassana, its an ancient meditation technique followed by Gautam Buddha himself..By doing so you will enter into a wonderful journey of your mind, but its not a peaceful thing to do ..but the result is reaching,"A no thought state,"and that alone is eternal peace, and I am sure that no other religion can give 100 % peace, when ever you pray to god, your mind become superficially peaceful, but the inner mind is full of thoughts called sankaras in Vipassana, those thoughts could be good or bad they either give pleasure or pain,if you train yourself to react to both the thoughts equally only then you can achieve this peace..and its the toughest task I would say.I loved this buddhist technique of meditation because it has not asked me to belive in God or belive in any religion or follow buddhism..it only told me to realise myself. It was the most awesome thing that I ever experienced in my life..10 days of noble silence..

nokundi: dadude- i call myself spiritual, means that i make and like to make as much experiences as possible.I try not to believe. But i trust my own experiences.Thats all i know.
That what is called God, depends on the definition.
For me god is not a person but only a presence which i can experience-the innermost core of my beeing, that silent core, where there is no thought and no feeling. In that way god is alive for me.
The god of the priests has never been alive:-).The alive god is that of the mystics, the experiencers. This god of the mystics can not be
found by belief,it has nothing to do with theology.I even say that it is good to throw the gods of the priests away, so that anyone can discover his own god.God is your own truth.

thumbs up

so you are basically saying we all have an individual God? so really what your saying is that you are your own God...now that is blasphemy...I'm sorry but it's the truth...you know the sayin', you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink....well that's about where I'm at right now

Dadude62: The God I know never forgave me for anything,, he never held anything against me. He did however set it all up with consequences (not "punishment") for my bad acts and benefits of my good acts.
AND,,, for everyone els's acts too, we are all in this together.
What kind of god would let someone else take "punishment" for my sins?

Just a couple of real quick questions:

1. How do you know he never held anything against you?
2. Do you pray to this God?
3. What punishments do you receive for your bad behavior?

John 3:16 in the new testament clarifies why he did that

doh you are twisting this around...when I say "inner peace" it has nothing to do with what my mind creates...it's an actual tranquil peace...the moment I gave my life to Jesus Christ before I could blink much less process a thought, I had peace that surpasses anything I've ever known...

about that 10 days of noble silence...you for sure busted out of that realm...just kiddin' with you laugh
