serene56: I think that sometimes human beings are 'happier' if they have a 'script' to follow ..
It makes things simpler, there are 'answers' to the questions in life but then the likes of you, me and many others question those answers and find our own happiness - it can be done
As usual a very wise post. Hope you're well, LTNS.
if u truly believe in something,u feel strong ,but it can lead u somewhere else too. Most religious people start believing all the stupid stories religion offer (thats what religion only could offer)and becoming fanatics.thats the bad side of believing in religion. They think that their way of life is the only right way and the rest r wrong . Firstly,u dont have to be religious and believe all the foolish stories to believe in God.
Also atheist strongly stating that there is no God is foolish statement too.Its impossible to prove that there is God or theres no God. So the best way to be agnostic take all responsibility for our lives and leave the God alone.

PassiePAS: No he will ban you from his heaven if you dont subscribe to his book and read the same boring book each day haha. And if he does not like what you do ,then he sends in a flood killing all unguilty animals in his mass murder while correcting you . Next to that he only puts white dudes in his bible book while he also created Asians and Negroid people. To add on Then he first created homo erectus at 1 mil BC ,homo heidelbergenis ,Neanderthal-er before his final creation Homo sapiens at 170 000 BC . And after 1 million years he still doesn't know how to create a perfect humanoid cos all of us still get born with a tail bone while we dont have a tail. And Negroid people still sink while white folks float on water.
All that God non sense is a human made up fairytale to serve as manipulation. Make all think in the same way and its easy to control the mass.
Hope you wake up one day for your own ease of sole. Cos if your willing to believe that your lord is able to do those crimes against life, then you failed Gods test. God is love, not a person who needs to put fear into you to get you as follower. The demon has no powers ,so HE has to convince you by putting fear into you.

Brannigan70: Religion can mean lots of different things to lots of different people , it's a source of comfort to some , a tool to be used for some more and for others it's a daily ritual come what may .
I'd consider myself to spiritual but not overly religious . I am however an occasional attendant on Sunday in my local church . The few times I get annoyed by Religion is when either side of the religious divide get in my face forcing their point of view on me be it the deeply religious or the 'non-believers' . The other issue I have is when peeps from other cultures consider their religion and beliefs to be of greater importance to others when say for example they have chosen to live in another country with a different culture to theirs .
I am largely happy with my lot though , feeling not any less a person for being me

janie1305: I'm not religious at all and very happy thank you! In fact some of the most damaged people I've encountered have been religious. I do think it can be a comfort in times of ill health or impending death for some, and I understand this, but in my opinion it is a useless crutch to cling onto.
I now feel that people like you are pulling me out of a quick sand called religion, thank god..oops..thanks all(lol)...I think all these years all I have did is hated myself or hated others or have been frustrated, coz I was raised by religious parents and was made to believe that God saves you from problems..I should have saved myself coz God never came..now that I did a lot of damage to my life,I better get up and stand for myself..I am sure someday I will feel very confident of myself..."Have faith in yourself,no need of having faith in anything else is what I have realised".
How can you ask to be saved from problems..........we all have them!!! What you need to ask for is the wisdom to overcome them. Which means humbling yourself and searching for answers, not expecting someone to wave a magic wand and make them disappear.
Sunny143: Is it true that religious people are happier than others,I am asking you because I am about to consider myself as a non-religious person soon.Fed up of religions!!I would consider myself as a agnostic and non religious person, who believes in the existence of a super power. Can a person like me also be happier if so in what way..its not that I am sad but I am internally unhappy with my life.Is there anything wrong in my understanding about the same..please write your views ..
In many cases people who leave the religion are happier
Boy I don't know what God or religion you people have come in contact with, but my God is all loving and full of grace and sent Jesus Christ to bear all of your sins...

How "happy" are religious folks really, having to force their "beliefs" on everyone else? They have to because of a constant threat of being wrong.
It's not a matter of "considering" oneself one thing or another. What is it that one really know to be true? "Beliefs" are theories that people cling to having no proof one way or the other. That's where "faith" must come in with the denial of "doubt". Some folks have a need to live that way, mostly due to "fear". Are they really happy? How happy can someone be who is full of fear and in denial? Delusional people can "appear" to be happy, and "believe" that they are. See through "beliefs" for what they really are and go by what you really know to be true and admit there are things we just don't know, and give yourself a chance at true happiness.
I love my Jesus Christ and this may shock you but I'm a very happy person...I'm not insane or a fake...being almost 50 yrs old, I know for a FACT from own personal experience that my relationship with God has made me a happier/peaceful/loving/forgiving woman...knowing your forgiven for sins that you've been carrying for years only logically makes you more happy....but that's the glory of free will, we all have the freedom of choice...just like with everyday choices, comes consequences...you have the choice to rob a bank or not, but if you do, you will ultimately pay the price for doing so...

The word "fear" in religion isn't meant to be that you walk around wondering when or if your going to get struck by lightening...it's pretty much the same with everyday living...we all have laws to abide by and when we don't abide by them then there will be consequences...but ultimately we have a choice to obey them or not...so do I "fear" God if I make a wrong decision? No...that's were love, grace and forgiveness comes into play...that was the sole reason Jesus dying on the cross....but if I continually doing the same thing when I know it's not right, then yes there will be consequences to pay
