Ziusudra: All 5 are great but I prefer no.5 for without a foundation
having little in common how long does anyone expect to last
in a relationship. No.1 anyone can have but the fascination only lasts until the fun is over.
Chemistry is good but I don't want to be regarded as a lab experiment waiting to erupt and spill all over the table and floor
only to have some shrink wipe it up later.
Compliments can be shallow at times for that only makes a relationship appear to the outside world everything is fine when perhaps it is not so peachy at times.
Laughter can't hurt as long as they are laughing with you instead of at you.

hi, ziusudra wave

i guess the number 4 can be also define as "opposites attract" while the number 5 refers to appriciating similar likes...

i think, in the end it all boils down to being able to individuate our needs/wants and act on them...

thank you for your contribution wine

2intrigued: I can't pin it down to just one because they're all very important in the grand scheme of things.

hi, 2intrigued wave

agreed...but

while ideally all of them should be there in the equal measure...in the real life it is not always so..that's why i am mostly asking for preferences...not "one or the other" kind of choice...

thanks for your comment bouquet

Hiya Lucy wave If any one of those choices were missing, my preference would be to stay single. One can never expect equal measures of each but a little of this and a lot of another works for me. bouquet

lucynad: Oops, there are only 5...

but still too many, in my eyes...

Hello to all the Forumers and a special salutation to the ones i had the pleasure to interact/know some time ago

According to Jonathan Small there are at least 5 kinds of chemistry:

Type 1: Tear-each-other’s-clothes-off chemistry

Type 2: We’re-so-comfortable chemistry

Type 3: We-laugh-like-crazy-together chemistry

Type 4: We’re-so-complementary chemistry

Type 5: We-have-so-much-in-common chemistry

There are pretty much self explanatory, but if someone wants to have a look here is the link

with the premise that it is better to be "young & beautiful" (meaning: having all 5 kinds at the same time)

what kind of the chemistry would be for you more important when considering a long-term relationship?

hmmm
Chemistry was never my favorite subject of study, but it is a different story with the Solid-state physics!

Hello Lucynad wave Lovely to meet you bouquet

In order of importance for me in a long-term relationship are:
No. 1, No. 3, No. 2, No. 4 and finally, No. 5.

Without No. 1, it's not a romantic relationship but a friendship...and yes, I might be greedy in wanting it all, but I deserve it.snooty and so does everyone else.
