Oops, there are only 5... tongue

but still too many, in my eyes...laugh

Hello to all the Forumers and a special salutation to the ones i had the pleasure to interact/know some time ago wave

According to Jonathan Small there are at least 5 kinds of chemistry:

Type 1: Tear-each-other’s-clothes-off chemistry love

Type 2: We’re-so-comfortable chemistry applause

Type 3: We-laugh-like-crazy-together chemistry yay

Type 4: We’re-so-complementary chemistry thumbs up

Type 5: We-have-so-much-in-common chemistry cheers

There are pretty much self explanatory, but if someone wants to have a look here is the link

with the premise that it is better to be "young & beautiful" (meaning: having all 5 kinds at the same time) grin

what kind of the chemistry would be for you more important when considering a long-term relationship?

reunion Love your pic!!!!!!

What a good question about chemistry. Right now it has been so long I think I will just settle for one still breathing crying I do believe as we age our chemistry radar changes. Tho I would like the rip your clothes off chemistry I know for the long term it would need to be someone who is complimentary to me. The ying to my yang I think is how the expression goes. I tho here lately feel as if my shipped has sailed. That there will never be anyone for me. I had my one true love and maybe that is all I am going to get blues Stay well my friend teddybear

1 fades away, that is unavoidable, no long lasting relationship can keep it up, but as long as one can still look at the other and feel a tingling, enjoy the touch, can not imagine to be physical with anyone else, I'd say it isn't a problem if one doesn't tear the clothes of each other anymore (also sort of impractical when one lives with anther and that's contstantely on the minds)

Else I'd say the remaining 4, but I'd also add
Type 6: We respect each other chemistry
although maybe that is part of type 4?

All 5 are great but I prefer no.5 for without a foundation
having little in common how long does anyone expect to last
in a relationship. No.1 anyone can have but the fascination only lasts until the fun is over.
Chemistry is good but I don't want to be regarded as a lab experiment waiting to erupt and spill all over the table and floor
only to have some shrink wipe it up later.
Compliments can be shallow at times for that only makes a relationship appear to the outside world everything is fine when perhaps it is not so peachy at times.
Laughter can't hurt as long as they are laughing with you instead of at you.

But 4 and 5 have to both be there, no? For while it is wonderful to share common interests, males and females are different, and I personally find this is a beautiful thing and if the right type of male and the right type of female find each other, these differences can compliment, as well as that they are important if anyone thinks in terms of yin and yang.

I'm placing the emphasis on on 2 , 4 and 5 because I think when you've got those then the others are going to follow as I get better acquainted with my better half grin

I don't think the "young and beautiful" have a monopoly on being able to experience all of these types of chemistry as You call it, I'm still fully capable of all these things, I don't have a use by date printed on My butt!grin cheers

Sometimes I really feel we over analyse and over think these things.

hi, jim wave

if i am not mistaken the saying "it is better to be young and beautiful than old and ugly" refers to stating something obvious

it does not have to be intended literally...cool

i was wondering what kind of atraction/compatibility is more important in a long term relationship...bouquet
