Druggist Eli Bence was prepared to testify that the day before the murders Lizzie attempted to purchase 10 cents worth of prussic acid, she said, to clean her seal skin capes. He refused to sell it without a Drs. script. His testimony was not allowed at trial. Pull up her inquest testimony and read it. It is very long but is filled with inconsistences. Sad to say, it wasn't allowed at the trial also.

Have to agree. Now I've seen two movies (Marie Antoinette / Lizzie Borden) ruined by a constant and inordinate polluting of heavy metal music. It really wrecked the whole shebang. I am, however, interested in getting a book called, "Lizzie Didn't Do It!" by Masterson & Caso. Might give another side seldom investigated. I still think there's a really good chance she didn't do it. Then again.....gee, it's hard to really decide....check ur mail soon.------ This thread is Archived ------

Yesterday it was 50+, an absolutely gorgeous day! Warm, sunny, slight wind, worked in the yard for about 3 hours, beautiful!
Then last night roaring winds, today is single digits again with negative wind chills.
@ Ccin You didn't miss anything special with the movie, substandard even for Lifetime, and an obnoxious musical score.

It strongly leaned toward her temporary insanity. There is one detail I learned, that I had not known. During her incarceration, there was another axe murder in the vicinity. She could not have done it, so I think there actually is a good possibility of there being a Victorian- era serial killer in Massachussetts. Also, her defense brought up that, although there were several people milling about, (the maid, a neighbor, etc...) for those couple of hours, no one noticed anything remarkable concerning Lizzie. Hi Rohaan,The only problem I have with makeover movies which are claimed to be based on actual facts most of the time are mostly Hollywooded anyway.It's obvious we'll never know all the true facts anyway.

GREAT POST RO.. The murders you are referring to while Lizzie was in jail could not have been tied to the Borden murders. The man convicted in those murders arrived in the U.S. AFTER the Borden murders, but before Lizzies trial. BUT KEEP DIGGING!! I've got your interest.------ This thread is Archived ------
