Hi wave
I'm curious. What is it about fishing that makes you so passionate about it? My father would take us fishing when I was a child and I could never understand sitting for hours watching a stick with a string on it. dunno

Sorry to but in.
It's not so much the waiting to catch a fish. It the anticipation of the fight to land the fish. The trepidation of weather it's big enough to keep. The trill of landing the fish.

That's my take on fishing others might have a diffrant reason. Oh and if you are a drinker the best way to down a few frothy ales or in Mickies case a solo.

Hi Ladydiz
Bait fishing these days I would find boring myself . Short explanation I used to bait fish until I had a knee operation and when bait-fishing I was attacked by European wasps nasty things !!
So I started or taught myself Salt Water fly fishing did that for about 5 years .Then I decided it might be easier to flick a lure !!

Why do I do it hope to catch a BIG FISH on small gear and light line . Hope to catch a fish I've never caught had a weird fish with fluro stripes following my lure the other day !!
Also with lure or fly fishing I don't need to stay in one spot !!

When I was married I was encouraged by my EX to go !! I did stay out way longer to avoid my ex !!

These days I enjoy the outdoors and the hope of bettering my best !!
End of day the bigger fish out fish the fisherman rolling on the floor laughing
And yes I've caught myself with the lures !!

Went for a walk the other day "around the blocK" which is a bit hilly. Every other walker said "Hi" along the way. Guys, chicks and the "old ducks."

Yes I've found that most people will say hi or smile at least when you're out walking.

Now I'm cycling the walkers give me stone-face and the cyclists say hi laugh

Well all that talk of a 37cm Bream seems my luck has eluded me!!
Friday all I could manage were three tiny Brem.
Saturday's 42c put me off having an afternoon flick!!
So I headed out this morning a much cooler morning. And I'm faced with a gale force wind rolling on the floor laughing well almost .
So with the strong wind blowing everything towards the Patawalonga's barrages at a great rate of knots devil
I could only manage 2 tiny Salmon Trout and this rather dark brown 21cm bream
Embedded image from another site

And this colour(doesn't come out that dark in the pic!!confused) is due to it coming from the other side of the barrage where a lot of freshwater and rubbish etc mix !!
