stanley8m: Personally I think staying in division 1 is totally over-rated.

Hopefully we'll cross swords with ye next year in Div 2....seems we have to beat Cavan twice though to get there....I d settle for a draw on the 29th...keep our cards close to our chest for April 13th laugh

I have already wished Mount Leinster Rangers luck on here and ye have the support of Kildare, Kilkenny and as far as I know the whole of Leinster GAA behind you. I know one of the men who was instrumental in the club amalgamation that formed the rangers, and he was always going on and on about the quality of players in Carlow. They showed great spirit and some fantastic hurling to get here, so have no fear of Joe and the boys from Portumna. Come on Carlow.applause

In response to: Well lads (and lassies, hopefully), it's that time of year again

I'm not sure how this will progress as all my old compatriots seem to have jumped ship, but we'll give it a go.....

First question of the year:
What are your thoughts on the "black card"?

I haven't liked the concept of it from the outset and I didn't see anything this weekend to change my mind. Once again, in my mind, it's all coming down to the refs interpretation of it. I just can't understand why the GAA continually insist on complicating things. A foul is a foul is a foul....get your refs all singing from the same hymn sheet and it's pretty easy.

I live in Enniscorthy and i'm pretty don't fight about football it's not worth it

Ah Stan, ye're in 'transition' laugh No need to be worrying just yet.

I'm just hoping Jim Gavin starts playing the first team soon. Yesterdays team had only 5 probable championship starters. We need to beat either Tyrone or Mayo to make the semi finals. Not a hope of that happening with the current team selection.

Ps. Congrats to G's former school on winning the Ulster title and best of luck for the All Ireland series thumbs up

Ah here, have a bit of compassion laugh

Just one question though, the captain of St Vincents said it was great playing for his parish, I never would have associated that expression with Dublin clubs? Am I just being ultra culchie today? laugh

I've commented on this before.

I think Ulster is the only province that supports their own, maybe not until the latter stages of a competition, but we always do in the end laugh

Hmmmmmm and I thought you d understand the complexities of the GAA around the Mayo/Roscommon border .....with a certain club not playing their football in the county in which they are geographically located tongue

I thought we had it bad but we only dispute which parish a player is from, not which county a club is from laugh

Glengirl: I think I was a wee bit more "politically correct" than you

I just thought it really strange hearing a Dub talking about The Pride of the Parish

Yeah me too, maybe they do have parishes and souls even, it could be that it is just our inherent prejudice presuming they are all godless demons.laugh

Perhaps Sky could enlighten us.innocent
