Who says it has to be a diamond, though to those to whom it doesn't really matter what it is, what if it was a very cloudy looking diamond. Embarrassing to wear I think. Whatever stone it is, so long as it's of reasonable quality and lasts, especially if you want to pass it down... can understand choosing a diamond in this regard as it's the highest on the hardness scale, though apparently it still isn't immune to scratching..albeit perhaps not before a lot of wear and tear.
you guys sound like my overly cheap ex (emphasis on ex) boyfriend. if I were getting married I would want one, but it would not have to be expensive. I would prefer to pick it out together and I am not fond of diamonds. since I am not getting married, it doesn;t really matter. jewelry is always a nice gift tho.
felixis99: you really can't say that as you can;t speak for others. you are simply inserting your personal bias which sounds cheap and bitter TBH
but you seems happy to be that way lol
I know several folk whose engagement rings mean a great deal to them because of what they represent. and lets face it. some just like jewelry.
oh yes, it gets personal. cheap judgemnts.
jesus, your language is in real danger of becoming excessively flowery and unnecessarily eloquent. although I do enjoy reading comments you're toeing a line into unrelated rambling that I'm going to attribute to "cheap mentality"… perhaps?
