It´s easier to say what you don´t do. Have been around for some time, even on and off and responce pop up in my mind, lack of responce. I don´t know how many letters or flowers I have sent and get zip (nothing) back, not even a visit. So I start to wonder why you are here then you refuse to answer a simple quest....

Annoying.... When they have been to the shopping sales and expand and gloat "Just how much I have saved"....they never tell you just how much they spent????

Personally, I agree with you.
I do send an initial generic response to any mail I get (unless it is spam or rude) as I feel it is only polite to do so.
Others feel differently about this, stating just as you have the right to choose who you write to, they have the right to vhoose who to respond to.
Those who want to get to know you better will give a proper response anyway, so basically the weeding out is being done for you either way

thats what happens when ur watergun dont work .i would shoot them straight in the eye with my watergun and that must be burning.
mollybaby: I think all the points you make are valid.
Although, objectively, I would have to say men are more selfish than women as a gender.
Leave the pets out of it
In ''some'' ways we are,its the way nature intended man to be.
If we look closer then the reverse could be said Molly. In the crisis situation most men put women and children's safety first even if this means death for themselves(think titanic etc etc).the woman is closest to herself(unless children) and she will allow/expect the man to die in her place if needs be.when it really matters the man is less selfish than the woman, maybe???

Could that just not be an innate need to keep the world populated? Women and children are the future. One man could spread his seed amongst several women, so not so many men required for repopulation. However, because of the 9 month gestation period, and the fact that young humans need to be cared for for a long period of time, more women are needed. Therefore, need to be saved from disasters.
mollybaby: I still believe that women aren't as warlike as men, even if there are examples of warlike women in history. Tbey are exceptions rather than the rule.
Women will be as warlike as any man when having the responsibility. If they weren't brave enough for it or hadn't the bottle, they wouldn't be where they got to in whatever moment of time.
BTW, the correlation between women and men leading countries and incidence of war.....? You'll be surprised that female leaders have shown at least the same propensity for starting wars as men. Some would suggest moreso. Oops. Myth busted.
I think the general idea that women are unable or unwilling to defend their interests through war is at best, naive, at worst, condescending.

"Madam President are you really sure you want to launch the nuclear missiles? I assure that when you calm down you'll realise that the Chinese ambassador was not looking at you funny, thats just how his eyes are"

Defending ones cubs/interests is not the same as attacking for land/power etc.
I am not saying it never happens, but I still hold it is the exception rather than the rule.

In the the USA the gender difference is 2% when it comes to solving problems through war. But higher in other places in Europe, granted. I propose that if women as a gender took more interest in politics and current affairs that difference would evaporate.
IN Ireland BTW, they show less than 10% difference.
