It is not terribly exciting, but I like it...
These things date from 1900 and mostly war cards and cities from 1900 to 1950.
What fascinates me is that Tanzania is Tanganika, and so forth.. as lots of countries have had name changes..
so to go with this... I bought maps of the war, and thru postcards, I can track what happened...
I know... boring as anything... that's me..

I collect beautiful Buttons. Old, New, Designer, I buy them in Oxfam, sometimes I have to buy a very old jacket or top to get them, I cut them off and have them stored in Jars.... They are beautiful to look at.
I also collect old costume jewellry and keep the beads and glitter to make newer pieces.

I love old buttons too... I guess I do similar... cut them off clothes that I no longer need, and keep them for any future outfit that I might want to make..
as for jewellery, Oh.. don't get me started... I have way too much...

Oh wow, old jars and tins of buttons salvaged from charity shops and car boot sales and the joy of going through them and discovering the gems.
Do you use them? They inspire me to make outfits, or soft furnishings, or I replace buttons on clothing to enhance the quality and style of an item.
Matching up good (often retro) fabrics with old buttons, designing and creating...oh the joy!
