I think that there is one more factor that has a play in this that is very important called "greed". And of course it can apply to either wealthy or poor. But back to the question I feel for me that I am not gauging a potential partners' wealth though maybe I should have in the past in that I found later that there were things in the way I was perceived as well as unsaid and even misdirection that came towards me only to be seen after it was too late. Good communication between people that are honest with you and themselves can be a major plus.

unlaoised: The size of his bank balance is not an attraction to me but at my age and stage of life, I don't have a yearning to support him financially either
Hey Jim
Hello pretty woman. I agree, money is not a factor if I love someone, but I would never let a partner support me either, it's a collaboration.

It is a funny thing this love or money thing..
what is a lot of money... ? to some a lot is someone else's tiddles
and re love, how much can you love ? and how differently you love..
the love you have for your children, is that the same as you have for your budgie or pet fish?? def not.!!! In fact, I'd wager its a different measure for each person and animal in your life.
so, for me, at least come to the table with roughly equal amounts of money and love. Then you can talk turkey...
