john2: In some country's in the world they have to pay for water, so why not Ireland ? We where paying for it before the boom.
We already pay for our Water,this would be a second charge.Why would you pay twice,check it out.We pay already.

At first you think it's funny but when you hear it it's very true ,,it's actually sinister what the government did,,

One local man in Wexford took all his clothes off and jumped in the sea down on Wexford quay..

The water around the country should have been sorted and paid for when we got the loan,
They had money for it and nothing was done but yet those in charge had millions in their wages.
The water in a housing estate close to me was full of slurry ,,and thete are lots of more around the country where water is not up to standard,it should have been dealt with ,they had the money from hikes in vat,taxes ,etc,now they spent it they trying to charge us again,
I'm not paying it,nor is alot of people I know,don't care if there is only a trickle in tap,not paying and sticking to it.

A Wexford resident staged a personal protest against water charges by washing himself in front of a crowd on the the quay while another dramatically jumped into the harbour after water metering began last week.
James Scott brought soap and a bucket with him to have a public wash and a shave in unmetered water from the quay on Wednesday, the day water charges officially came into effect.
A short distance away, Michael Hurley went a step further and jumped off a boat into the harbour for a swim and a wash as towel-holding supporters cheered him on.
Both men were signifying their opposition to the new requirement on households to pay for water usage.
'I refuse to pay for water,' declared James. 'I sent back the registration form and marked it 'return to sender'.
James who has attended anti-water charge campaign meetings said it is 'scandalous' that people are being asked to pay for water.
''They're charging €176 for one person. I'm not going to pay. They can lock me up if they want.'
'It was a peaceful protest. I just wanted to state a fact,' said James who was photographed in his shorts,lathering himself in soap and throwing a bucket of sea water over his head.
Michael Hurley stripped off and dived into the quay from a moored boat to express his disagreement with the new water fees which must be paid from October 1.

I know a fella who did the same thing just returned the form with the wrong information..he reckons once you sign up for it they have you..They say they'll turn down water pressure but he reckons they won't be able to do that..you could just go back out to the meter yourself and turn it back on again
I heard it'll cost the average family €560 a year for water..thats an obscene amount to be charging anybody for water..I don't know why people aren't out on the streets rioting
