Tried it. It didn't work out, so I'd say, 'no'. Not through lack of trust, just that the distance was too much hard work to fit between our careers.
Some LDR's can work, but you both have to be happy about it.
I know personally of one that has been going on for ten years, and they're both extremely content about it.

Even dating a few hours away within the same country is hard work.
I would find having an LDR in a different country unsustainable.
And that has nothing to do with trust issues. Cheating can happen, or not happen, anywhere.
