I have only been on this site for a couple of weeks now, and I have received quite a few emails from guys wanting to know more about me. I send a reply to each one I receive, and I tell them the important things that should be known right away. But then when they send their reply they tend to ask questions that are already in the email that I already sent. I am beginning to think that these are scam emails, what do you think?

If they ask a question you have already answered on your profile, I would not answer them.

After a while, you will be able to distinguish the real from the fake mails without even thinking! giggle

take your time with giving out private information on online dating sites.
and if it appears they are not listening in the beginning...why would you continue?

This is my sentiment exactly. If someone is really interested in getting to know you they will read your profile and emails thoroughly. I am glad it is not me just being over cautious, because when I sense they have not read my profile or reply email, I delete and block.

Upfront, I like you already. Me, I give every person who shares this Earth with me at least one good chance, sometimes two, and rarely, depending on circumstances, three, but this is almost never. If I have been writing to someone, and they ask the same thing again, or e-mail me and it is obvious I am part of a "lot" they are currently e-mailing, then, yes, into the circular file with the used paper clips and staples. No one gets much farther than that with me. But, if the person is cool, and it is apparent they are not meaning negativity, etc... then yes, I am understanding. Hope you find some really nice friends on this community site. I have--and I still hold out that there are wonderful people in the world, and the ones who are struggling with personality glitches and cruelty and meanness I will hold to God for His care. JMO

Me personally I don't want to get emails that's why I've blocked every country there is.

What you are experiencing are scammers mails.

I've gotten a number of e-mails in the time I've been on this site. I read 'em, but I usually don't answer 'em because I know most of them are phony. Only on occasion have I received real emails
from people.

I hope I am not prying, are you wanting to get to know someone on here for a serious relationship, or are you wanting internet friends only? If you are looking for a relationship how are you going about getting to know them? It might be something I would like to do other than emails.

No I'm not looking only here for the forums.

I'd rather seek someone in the real world.

@sunmoontruth

i just wanted to add that as well as sharing private mails, using the forums is a good way to get to know folks on this site.

i have strong friendships now with a few folks from this site, and also met my partner here (recently celebrated our 4th anniversary).

and yaaah... i've said it before.... (laugh)

ya get what ya focus on...

the scammers only want to now if you have money or own a house ,jewels or so on ,the are not interested in you as person ,in a few email you will find out if the one on the other side is fake or not, most of the time if the profile is to good to be true ,you can bet on it that it isn´t.

the one wher you can reed that they look for a god fearing woman ,and widow is 8 from 10 times a scammer

That sounds like a very good idea, you probably would get a more honest feel about a person, instead of the one on one approach.

You are right, it takes about the third email, and I delete and block.

The last message i got was from a lady who told me in the first line how nice i looked. Now as much as i would love to have strangers tell me how wonderful i look, the fact that i have not posted a photo of my appearance on here for years!

It cuts out most scammers, fraudsters and the stalkers on the site. With that in mind i'd have to be silly to think the rest of the content of the email was genuine.

Have i replied, no. But i have also not got around to replying to a genuine message yet, because i have been taming 2 feral kittens, which i have succesfully done in 7 days. My new fluffy companions are real.....the originator of the message telling my about my appearance almost certainly isn't!

Oh real warning sign dear. The not paying any real attention to what your saying (scammer for sure). I have been on this a site and another for a few months. I finally just put on my profile at the very beginning of it and put this: First and foremost I am looking for a REAL man, Not a scammer, foreigner, or a fake profile. That means if you have an accent from some other country move on to the next profile now.

Now that is not to offend men from other countries. For me I simply want to be with a man from my own country and know that. However, sad to say I have yet to met a man that wasn't a scammer who didn't have a foreign accent. It is very sad because I do no there are many very nice men who are from foreign countries; however, these predators usually come from Russia and Nigeria I guess. Also, their profile grammar as far as putting capitals and commas, and periods in the right place is usually really bad. And often, many misspelled words.

You might want to put your own version at the top of your profile to warn them off, as at the top of your profile is as far as most of them read. Best of luck to you.

I don't think writing No Scammers is going to put off scammers in the slightest.

Firstly, they don't read profiles, and even if they did, it wouldn't stop them.

It is the nature of their game.
