I would intervene any way possible even though I would be at risk of being injured myself. I couldn't just stand by and watch and wait for the authorities to arrive.

By legislation and my job, whether or not I am on or off duty, I would intervene. Prior to my present job I was also very prone to intervened,....unless it was a "fair" fight!

What I thought was interesting was the comment on whether or not the fight would be a fair one, unless you were kidding about that. Would you continue to observe if it were a fair fight?

Sanctioned "fights"....ie' boxing are fair,....in that case a referee "intervenes". And amomgst people, disputes arise that are "solved" through fisticuffs,....and if they know when to let well enough alone,,....I am "slow" to intervene,....yet if it continues,....in a PUBLIC venue.....then intervene I must! If weapons are involved....fairness has left the arena and intervention is immediate.

A fair fight to me is two evenly-matched drunken idiots, without weapons, fighting over a girl who isn't worth it.
I'd leave them at it, and let them feel sore and silly the following day.

Yup! Idiots they are! So longs as weapons are not involved (possible collateral damage),....I walk towards intervention in SLOW measured steps....then again,....in uniform,...ARGHH,....I am supposed to react.....lol.....and usually there is one person who is VERY glad the intervention occured!
