TheRedSquirrel87: Things get weird when men and women come to champion and cheerlead for the psychology of the adversary. When men take on the contradictory condition and women take on the black and white. The male feminist are the least reasonable and you can't persuade him to revise his own ideas because they're not his own ideas to begin with, and likewise the classic housewife security mom believes in the maleness more than men do because she doesn't understand it. The security mom without reservation cheerleads the alpha male strongman whereas men don't have this overwhelming need to be protected or rescued and are more suspicious of men who come on like a knight in shining armour.

I don't thank you enough Lindsy for being the springboard to so many of my rambles. Thank you for the interesting blog.

back when men were the providers the woman were the care givers and rearing of the children. the man went out to provide for the family. now it is all changed both provide and the woman's roll has changed, maybe more pressure on the woman today. women are more emotional then men and it eventually builds to a point it becomes to much for some women.dunno

TheRedSquirrel87: In other words neurotic is woman and psychotic is man. Neurotic is far more common than psychotic, but also far less extreme. Women tend less to extremes due to being more co-operative, equal and averse to risk and men are more extreme due to being more competitive, unequal and up for a gamble. Men range all the way from Ned Flanders to Donald Trump, the most sane to the least sane individual, whereas most women(especially today)have a touch of Sylvia

Neurotic versus psychotic is quite a difference Obs and between the two I guess I'd rather be in a room full of the former than the other.

Me too. A room full of psychotics is how the Manson family started and the other room is no different to nanna's knitting circle.

TheRedSquirrel87: Defending borders in the middle east and letting our own collapse is an example of the feminine and neurotic contradictory condition.

Sending millions to die in a gas chamber? That's men.

Where's the world of women being crazy is nothing more than breaking the banality of life while men brings devastation and demise to humanity. A most vivid contrast.

The violence and war of man may reduce mankind to rubble where the fickleness and indecision of woman would reduce us to rags.

They are both equally crazy.
Only difference is that women don't hide it.

tomcatwarne: With the Freudian theory and treatment of hysteria, psychoanalysis was born. That Freud was led to discover the unconscious mind as a result of his treatment of women suffering from hysteria is significant for the theory and practice of psychoanalysis.

It is also, I will argue, significant for feminism. In the expression of the hysteric’s symptoms Freud read the expression of something which confounded his medical and scientific knowledge, a psychical force which could cause illness with the malignancy of a cancer. Freud’s theory of hysteria, which became the theory of the unconscious, opened up a whole new way of thinking about the human psyche and human suffering. Indeed, the idea that repression caused by social norms and prohibitions can lead to hysterical illness has had a significant influence on feminist thought. It is psychoanalytic theory which has led some feminists to suggest that hysterical symptoms are a form of feminist rebellion or “protofeminism.”

This connection between repression and oppression, social norms and suffering, has long been drawn on by feminists as evidence for and representation of women’s suffering under patriarchy. In fact it was the image of the hysterical housewife with which Betty Friedan began her 1963 feminist call to arms, The Feminine Mystique, the book widely crediting with launching the second wave of the feminist movement in America.

Tom thanks for all your points.

Yes we become hysterical when oppressed and that's just our nature.
