robplum: Eurozone leaders have reached a "unanimous" agreement after marathon talks over a third bailout for Greece, EU President Donald Tusk has said.BRUSSELS—Eurozone leaders said early Monday that they would give Greece another bailout as long as the government of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras manages to implement a round of punishing austerity measures in the coming days.
News of an agreement hasn't spelt out the extent of the associated pain that goes with acceptance
If Greece wanted to be part of EU then by no choice they have to implement draconian reforms. It's very obvious that administrative functions necessary for a country to survive and immerge among others were not carried out since the beginning of the bail out, 5 years earlier. Tsipras is the first one willing to make those reforms, with a strong bargaining force,, but his credibility was not convincing enough on the eyes of the rest of the euro zone. Greece has to make an important move forward, not stagnate and count on the monetary lending eternally.
robplum: Dijsselbloem: Greek assets to be put in fund
The Greek parliament will legislate very quickly on a number issues, which will help bring back trust to member states.
There is agreement that Greek reforms need to be strengthened sooner.
Assets will be transferred to a fund to be set up. The fund will monetise them by privatisation or running them. It will be used to help recapitalise banks.
Once the €25bn needed for recapitalisation is repaid, the remaining funds will be used to bring down debt by 50% and the other 50% for the Greek government to reinvest into Greece."
if Britain, pulled out of the E.U....I would repay them nothing.....nothing..for nothing.......
And you have,as we have, the same politician from Oxbridge,Eton, etc, coming out en mass, to fleece out to our last penny. In not their fault for our fleecing,it is our fault, we the public, allowing them, doing it.-
truheart1941: yes.....and we had a budget last week.....stopping certain people reciving benifits...to save a few pounds.....and yet ,our leaders...spend £53.millions per day on the E.U......for nothing......it makes me sick.......

German Chancellor Angela Merkel is giving her reaction.
We have always said this has always been about a three year programme. Essential changes must be made, complete reform of pensions, privatisation and labour markets.
On the €50bn privatisation fund:
€25bn will be used to recapitalise the banks, which will then be privatised. The fund will be run with European oversight.
"We want to use the best possibilities to privatise, and get the best possible revenue out of these assets. We need to support the programme, we have seen in the past that there have been problems implementing the programmes."
Bailout terms:
"What happens in Greece, has to be in line with what happened with bailouts in previous countries."
She said that debt relief was "out of the question".
Greece anti-austerity:
Greece's February anti-austerity laws will be repealed.
Bridge funding:
ESM will examine bridge funding to help Greece until the deal is ratified.

DONE AT LAST !!!! Tsipras is on the line at this moment, thanking the EUROPEAN PARTNERS FOR THEIR SUPPORT ,, HE SAYS THE STRUGGLE WAS HARD,, WHAT WAS DEMANDED HE SEES IT'S FUNDAMENTAL !!!! Forward Greece now,, you have proven you are capable,,, i salute you. Go to action now !!!! EUROPE WON !!! Be in Greece this autunm ,,, see ya ,,,
The new European dictator has spoken. They put up,on the Acropolis, the German flag, entering Athens in 1941. And they do the same thing, via their economic strenght. And the people of Europe believed, they could manage a wolf,to behave like a tamed dog. Europeans and their fallacies, especially for the Greeks.

Lolette: Financial independence is the key,, but who are ?
Gunmen are holed up in a Primark store near Paris with up to 10 people inside.
The attack appeared to be a bungled bid to rob the clothing shop, police said on Monday, adding that special forces had been dispatched to the scene.
'Around 6:30 am, two or three armed criminals went into the Primark store for what we think was initially an attempt at armed robbery,' a police source, who wished to remain anonymous, said of the incident at Villeneuve-la-Garenne.

We have seen a dramatic rise of the pound against the Euro.
More money for me to spend in Europe, but what will the Greek crisis mean.?
What could happen to GBP/ EUR exchange rates next week:
Option 1: Greece and EU leaders strike a deal for further bailout funds which should strengthen the euro and GBP/ EUR exhange rates fall.
Option 2: EU leaders reject the reforms proposed by Tsipras and a ‘Grexit’ becomes likely. Exchange rates therefore rise.
Option 3: Talks continue after the weekend and GBP/ EUR floats around 1.38-1.40.
For clients looking to buy or sell euros in the upcoming months the Greece story is going to dictate how much currency you recieve. Over the last month GBP/ EUR exchange rates have fluctuated 6 cents. Clients that bought €150,000 at the high compared to the low would have saved over £4,500.
arapaho: They only want another 60 billion, till the next time, then after that what ? riots in Germany if they keep giving ?
yea , or what they should have done in 2010 and start issuing drachmas at least if they had in 2010 all the assets would be staying in Greek ownership .

All-night negotiations in Brussels have resulted in the foundations of a new bailout deal for Greece being agreed though tough negotiations still lie ahead to end its financial crisis. Sixteen hours of talks between the leaders of eurozone nations broke up with summit chair, EU president Donald Tusk, tweeting that there had been a unanimous agreement on a programme that included "serious reforms" and "financial support".
At a news conference, he described it as an "aGreekment" but there was clearly a lack of trust on the creditor side, with German chancellor Angela Merkel among those saying the relationship had to be "rebuilt" following months of tortuous talks. She added that future funding was conditional on the continued involvement of the International Monetary Fund - a scenario Greece had tried to block.
Many Greeks reacted furiously to the deal, particularly Germany's role in insisting on continued austerity in return for help.
Crucially, the package will not result in an immediate cash injection for the country's cash-starved banks, which remain closed but it was understood that the European Central Bank would decide later on Monday whether to expand its emergency loan limit.
