Capricorn143: If this is what has been spent on the bail out, Slovenia is missing and we will be hit the most - what we have give is more than 3% of our GDP (according to Financial Times)

Still I root for NO as I have had enough of the arrogant EU bureaucrats. EU bureaucrats don't have a clue what democracy is and they don't give a damn for anyone but themselves and their big fat salaries.

its what Greece owes

So, how's the vote on this issue going? Not seeing anything reported yet about it on major news networks here in the USA. dunno

If I understand thing correctly, if Greece votes NO, then Greece defaults on its debt, doesn't have to pay it back and is then free to print and use its own currency? dunno

Updates here, seems there's a good participation, but media says the Greeks usually vote in the pm,, it's almost 4 pm here,, barely 2 hours more to go, voting will end at 6 pm,, so far, scenarios are coming out, wether NO or YES votes will win,, either side is not simple. It's sated that IMF released a directives last week stating that the debt is unsupportable for the entire polulation,, measures might be in the drawers waiting for the results ,, YES victory would lead to the fall of the present political party,,

Capricorn143: I completely agree that their leaders have been incompetent, but it is not the current government's fault - and it seems this gvt is what the EU bureaucrats, Merkel and co. are most bothered by at the moment. And what is EU doing now? They stick to the plan regardless of the conseqences.

Is not the EU governments fault, its solely the German's government
fault, dominating the whole economic stracture of the EU,and dictating to the rest of the EU countries their WILL. And this WIIL to the rest of EU countries, translate like this."""Swollow the pill,am giving, liking it or not"".-

Yup, i see the the face of their currency,, just in case, printing them would happen,, it would be necessarily undervalued to enhance economic activity, that would mean, those who still have money will surely lost, up to their last shirts,,

Right Cris, Greece is a part of europe, but maybe the possibility the exit from the european money, depending on the new negotiations iregardless the vote of NO or YES wins,, but some will be losing their hard earned money set aside,,and the future is uncertain,,

Very true Lollete, the bail out money bailed out German and French banks not Greece. What an absurd world we are living in help

Just watched the news on France 24 English, more than 30% turn out in the morning hours only - the minimum of 40% have to vote for the referendum to be valid.

The Greek people have spoken. The NO won.
The Greeks want a new renegotiation with the EU and new proposals,
than the proposals of the 25/6/2015.

The word democracy is Greek, along with 60% of the English language,
either directly or indirectly (mainly via Latin).

Greeks voted overwhelmingly "No" on Sunday in a historic bailout referendum, partial results showed, defying warnings from across Europe that rejecting new austerity terms for fresh financial aid would set their country on a path out of the euro.

Now we wait to see if the landlord has the chutzpah to follow through with an eviction. Inhumane and risky to be sure, but it must be done in order to bring the remaining PIGS countries in line. Business is business.

Thats exactly what a Greek told in a tv programme in Germany.
Rised as an orphan in Switzerland (the whole village of Distomo,as an
8 years old,was massacred by the Germans) and never paid any reparation
he said in that TV programme.""Business is business, pay up""

The USA Is going down the same financial path of ruin as Greece and people here still want all the "free" stuff too. Most people here just can't see the forest for the trees.

Interesting though, USAers gave over 450 Billion USDs to local charities in 2014. That's about the same amount of Greece's stated debt. But, what's crazy about this charity monies is that most of it doesn't help people here get out of a bad situation or even hunger, instead, most of it goes to help them out of a critical situation where they are starving.... The world is upside down, imo.
