Obviously when I'm at home.
When I'm waiting in line in a grocery store etc I can't stand to have someone so close to me that I can feel them breathing.

for me it depends on who's doing the touching, and what the stuff is...if i invite someone to my home, i expect them to respect my things....and of course it depends on how well i know them.
years ago...
i witnessed a great argument between two folks sharing an art studio...
one kept saying..."i need my space, i need my space!"
the other one yelled, "you have most of the bloody studio!"
then the first said, " i mean my mental space in this studio!"
to which the other responded..."oh...let's face it...your brain just ain't that big".
it was years ago..but since then...if i see someone struggling with what is their personal space...i always remember those two.

that's a great story. Personal space does have more than one connotation. There's that limit to how close someone can stand to you depending on the context and how well you know them, mental space, and what I refer to as territory.I will say that if someone invades speaking distance too intimately and touches me it will bother me usually.
