I started rather early--the day after Halloween. I have so far put up my Douglas Fir Wreath. It's artificial, but remarkably made. It has pine cones, (real), red berries, and an electric candle in the center. It also looks remarkably real. I also gathered up all the unused cards from Christmases past--I may have enough to last through this season. I also have a tinsel tree, but I may go for the bigger, green tree this year. I have about 100 antique glass ornaments from Germany and France--some even have those concave colored 'windows'. I will make some cookies and candy this time, too, and am planning on having an open house in early December. For now, music Tv is on with carols and such. For some Christmas brings hope and a time for pardons, peace and friendship,,, and of course wishes for a christmas joy,,, be it material or spiritual,, or the simple yet so complex ,,, LOVE

It would be cool if you posted some pictures to share with us. I'm putting up the odd decoration right now but plan to put up the Christmas tree and the rest of the decorations for the end of November. Most of my shopping is already done and I've just got to wrap some of the gifts to send back home to my family.
I like having the decorations up as I want to simply enjoy them throughout the season. Working retail is generally long hours at Christmas so to come home and plug in the Christmas tree is a treat. It brings beauty into my life and although its simple, I enjoy it immensely.
Home is my refuge and that is one thing that I enjoy about being in Alberta is that cozy feeling of having snow outside. Its a sweet solitude as I enjoy watching the chickadees out my window.
